Anyone been published or know what to look for in one etc?

C-Man (C-Man), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:16 (twenty-two years ago)

C-Man, I'd tell you to talk to my wife who knows a great deal about this, but I'm actually not letting you anywhere near her.

Fat Alberet (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry, but "How to Lose Friends & Alienate People" has already been written.

dean! (deangulberry), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:17 (twenty-two years ago)

"the c-man collector"

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:18 (twenty-two years ago)

*high five*

Fat Alberet (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh get out of here - you want serious threads, you got one. I could do with some info fast so if anyone wants to help then shoot ahead and it won't be forgotten...

Do you go with the bigger publisher or do you look for cash advance or what?

C-Man (C-Man), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:23 (twenty-two years ago)

And dude I'm not going to harass your wife...

C-Man (C-Man), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha!

Fat Alberet (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:24 (twenty-two years ago)

go the cash advance

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:25 (twenty-two years ago)

The internet is so weird.

Fat Alberet (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:25 (twenty-two years ago)

we're lucky we have it.

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:26 (twenty-two years ago)

What's the title of this book, pally?

dean! (deangulberry), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I vaguely remember some link to it from a while back, or that may have been for a movie script.

A Nairn (moretap), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:31 (twenty-two years ago)

No, no - that was the script... I just don't know where I stand. What exactly do you look for in a deal? What is the average percentage cut?

C-Man (C-Man), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:33 (twenty-two years ago)

*sigh*

Okay then, I'll get back to you.

Fat Alberet (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I am guessing 99% of your words.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Thanks Al.

C-Man (C-Man), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Give us a title, buddy.

dean! (deangulberry), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Is it a book about ILX?

Slump Man (Slump Man), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:37 (twenty-two years ago)

and all this has been secret undercover research

Slump Man (Slump Man), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Isn't that what doomie ended up saying too?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't have a title. I have a half written publication that has been gained solid offers. You'll know more when it comes out. Why do you think I'm on ILX so damn much? My brain is frazzled from sitting here typing.

C-Man (C-Man), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Is C-Man = Mr. Bungle?

dean! (deangulberry), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a half written publication that has been gained solid offers

Get a good editor.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:38 (twenty-two years ago)

(not the band)

dean! (deangulberry), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't you edit yourself? I was intending too...

C-Man (C-Man), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:39 (twenty-two years ago)

start now, please.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I can see why people get addicted to replying to him.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Well ILX has been great for some of my fictional writing - but whether it ever sees the light of day is another thing. Some threads have been very good for that.

C-Man (C-Man), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Write more stuff. Get other people to read it. Then get an agent. Good luck.

Fat Alberet (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, I'm a bit further on than that now, but thanks all the same.

C-Man (C-Man), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:52 (twenty-two years ago)

If you had an agent, you wouldn't be asking these questions.

Fat Alberet (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 23:53 (twenty-two years ago)

*zing*

dean! (deangulberry), Thursday, 15 January 2004 00:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Is C-Man The Aphex Twin?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 15 January 2004 00:39 (twenty-two years ago)

No, I know all this - I was just wanting some other advice, in this case someone who's actually done it.

C-Man (C-Man), Thursday, 15 January 2004 03:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I think it was Nude Spock/Hey Buddy etc. who claimed that his ILX trolling was all part of some genius internet-get-rich-quick-scheme. I think it was Doomie who was having one of his short stories turned into a screenplay for Jude Law. It was def. Calum tho' who came up w/ the 'whores for Jesus' high-concept.

Andrew L (Andrew L), Thursday, 15 January 2004 21:51 (twenty-two years ago)

five years pass...

great thread.

didn't know what else to revive for this:
