How long have you gone without sunlight?

Anyone from Scandanavia/Alaska/Iceland?

It's been about three days, until now, since I saw the sun. I am attempting to normalize my sleep schedule.

Four days, in the post-Christmas lull, including New Year. I think I actually went mental - lack of daylight makes you feel really weird.

I'm from Scandinavia. If you're working from 8am to 4pm (the regular working hours in here), the winter can be pretty depressing: the sun hasn't risen when you go to work, and it's already starting to set when you get out.

I have not seen sun since October. This is of course a lie, there have been rare occasions where 1) I have not been at work 2) I have not been at home sleeping because I'm exhausted from working too much and 3) the constant grey sky has cleared up for a few moments during the few daylight hours. But these instances can be counted on one hand's fingers. I wish I was a bear and could pleasantly sink into a coma during the winter months.

This is what the bears do:

When I was a wee lad, I wanted a baby bear as a pet. I expected it would be just like Winnie The Pooh, and we'd go on adventures and he'd introduce me to his animal friends.

I still want one, but in a more realistic way.

But a sunny winter day can be a wonderful sight, what with all the snow reflecting the sun; today was such a day, for example. I'm not a winter-hater, me.

I used to have a friend named Sandra who was allergic to sunlight. Too long exposed and she would break out. Poor (pale) girl.

In the winter of '96/'97 I worked the graveyard shift (10 p.m. to 6 a.m.) stocking at a big dumb grocery store. From Nov. to Jan. though I think during the holidays I was forced into some daytime excursions.
