No-rub contact lens solution: Classic or Rub?

The idea of no-rub solutions strikes me as a way to make contact wearers more wasteful -- because you have to douse the lens "for 5 seconds" when typically if you're going to rub it, one drop on each side is all you need. I've also asked an eye doc about it, and she said that the rub-action is important in removing proteins and other debris on it.

I've worn contacts forever, and am usually suspicious of flimsy-sounding marketing claims, but I've been using the new No Rub formula, and can honestly say my lenses are more comfortable, for longer hours. Not a huge difference, but still noticeable. They didn't raise the price either, and since you're not using as much of it the bottle lasts longer.

I just put them straight in the case with the solution - no wasteful dousing. Yes, I'm probably going to hell. I use monthly disposables at the moment, if that makes a difference.

rinse them in bleach and ammonia, much better for the eyes

four months pass...
I switched to this recently cause it was buy 1 get 1 free and towards the end of most days my vision gets foggy.
It's really not anymore wasteful than the normal solution since you're suppose to rinse the lens for 5 seconds after rubbing anyway.

See, I use saline solution (as distinct from 3-in-1) exclusively to rinse, which is loads less expensive.

but then you have to use TWO bottles! fuck that with a bat.

and actually I get the generic "mult-purpose" solution which is as cheap as non-generic saline solution. I never see generic saline solution.
