I get really worked up about this apparently trivial issue.

i've seen them east germans dance.

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 17:01 (twenty-two years ago)

or maybe that should be Das DDR (or was it Der DDR?).

I was wondering how long before Ken posted.

Christ I am shit at DDR! Ken have you played DDR Extreme yet? It has a CREAMY song on it!! And Little Bitch from 1st mix! Yeehaw.

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 17:03 (twenty-two years ago)

It's die Republik, so it's die DDR. Both GDR and DDR are vastly better than the disgusting euphemism "neue Bundesländer".

Colin Meeder (Mert), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 17:06 (twenty-two years ago)

NO!!! CAN SUCH A BEAST BE FOUND IN LONDON?

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 17:08 (twenty-two years ago)

back to the question though.. the GDR or die DDR. It depends on what language you do this in i guess.

die DDR sounds violent.

Yeah! In Las Vegas! They've got Pump It Up, EZ Jam and DDR Extreme all in a row, with a Para Para Paradise machine too! It's amazing! We should go before the next Soho based FAP... and perhaps bring some deoderant too hoho.

i'm so up for this!!!!!! aw i miss the las vegas!!!!!!!!!!!

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I always call it the DDR, because although I speak English I like the German initials. Someone should invent a dancing game with the initials GDR.

DV (dirtyvicar), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 17:27 (twenty-two years ago)

gay dance revolution?

actually there's this one that was used to be at the trocadero!! It had three floor buttons and two "hand sensor" thing, that you have to sweep your hand over when told to do so - I SAW ONE GUY PLAY THIS AND IT WAS THE GAYEST THING EVER! I cannot in my life remmeber what it is called though so GDR is what it's gonna be known as from now on.

The East German Trabant was a two-stroke, two cylinder car. Ha!
We have blenders with more power.

Ostalgie.

Nostalgie für den Osten.

Momus (Momus), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:17 (twenty-two years ago)

That's not Ostalgie in the first link, it's onomatopoeia.

springtime! cue me coffee ludes (Wintermute), Thursday, 22 January 2004 01:56 (twenty-two years ago)

DDR coz the sign on the back of my car says DDR innit.

Trabant Driver (MarkH), Thursday, 22 January 2004 11:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Ken that's E-Z dance! I saw these lunatics playing it last time I was at LV - it's very good for doing Justin Timberlake style dances, Pump It Up is good for B-Boy stuff and DDR is just UTTERLY INSANE!

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 22 January 2004 12:04 (twenty-two years ago)

My friend who grew up there says GDR. But I don't think this means anything.
