Apparently, the ceremonial South Pole is marked by a garden gazing ball...

The Geographic South Pole demarcation isn't much better

(I had no idea that the South Pole was "up" so high.)

But what's really marking the South Pole? I'd say that it's a deep candy striped hole in the ground that provides an alternate entrance to Narnia.
