Knickers=yes
Bra=no
Socks=yes (unless i've only worn them for a few hours)

Pinkknickers (Pinkpanther), Friday, 23 January 2004 13:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, every day.

hmmm, Friday, 23 January 2004 13:41 (twenty-two years ago)

That's an ingenious pun you've made there Calum.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 23 January 2004 13:41 (twenty-two years ago)

pants yes, shirt yes, socks yes. That just about covers it...

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 23 January 2004 13:49 (twenty-two years ago)

What about your sock suspenders Mark?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 23 January 2004 13:49 (twenty-two years ago)

My underwear changes me every day

stevem (blueski), Friday, 23 January 2004 13:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Pants: yes
Bra: no
Socks: if I'm wearing one pair of socks, yes. If I'm wearing two pairs of socks, I will replace the dirtier.

the river fleet, Friday, 23 January 2004 13:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes.

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 23 January 2004 13:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Doesn't your underwear change colour Stevem?

Pinkissowrongbutsoright (Pinkpanther), Friday, 23 January 2004 13:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Sock suspenders? How old are you?

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 23 January 2004 13:57 (twenty-two years ago)

OldPink (Pinkpanther), Friday, 23 January 2004 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

oops sorry didn't know...

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 23 January 2004 14:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Only the underwear I am wearing. I am happy to leave the rest in the drawer.

Pete (Pete), Friday, 23 January 2004 14:04 (twenty-two years ago)

hmm!

Pinkpie (Pinkpanther), Friday, 23 January 2004 14:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I change my underwear (knickers, t-shirt, socks) after shower, and I take shower once in two days; except, if I've had a rough night I take a shower next morning even if I've had one the previous day.

Am I a filthy pig?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Friday, 23 January 2004 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Yup. I'm afraid you are. There go all the crushes that your avalanche of pictures created...

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 23 January 2004 14:16 (twenty-two years ago)

er, i'd better say nowt then

stevem (blueski), Friday, 23 January 2004 14:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Ach, it's just his hair talkin' trying to convince me that he's a DIRTY dronerock boy. ;-)

the river fleet, Friday, 23 January 2004 14:18 (twenty-two years ago)

In my defence, the Finnish climate is such that one doesn't sweat very often, and I don't do sports. If it is a hot summer, I usually take a shower and change my undies every day...

Tuomas (Tuomas), Friday, 23 January 2004 14:18 (twenty-two years ago)

B-b-b-but surely you sweat in bed??!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 23 January 2004 14:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Socks and pants yes, bra no.

Archel (Archel), Friday, 23 January 2004 14:20 (twenty-two years ago)

B-b-b-but surely you sweat in bed??!!

Not to my knowledge, unless it's a hot summer, or I'm having some sweaty action there... Which is of course a good enough reason to change my underwear.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Friday, 23 January 2004 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

i do. it gives me a chance to enjoy the variety of colors/patterns/cartoon pictures.

i have way too much underwear. i guess that's better than having not enough, though.

colette (a2lette), Friday, 23 January 2004 14:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm with Tuomas on this. Fresh underpants come after a shower. Usually that's every morning anyway (for work, natch), but if I get up on weekends to go do errands or something without a shower, I just put on yesterday's and go. And I mostly have boxers anyway, which don't get that yucky or anything. I'll always have a shower before going out in the evening, though, and put on all fresh stuff then, hence maximising my "freshness" for the evening.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 23 January 2004 14:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Likewise. Fridays and Saturdays are definitely shower days, otherwise I can live a day without taking one.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Friday, 23 January 2004 14:33 (twenty-two years ago)

of course you wouldnt put a clean pair on if you weren't clean yourself, but then I shower at least once everyday so i guess it just follows.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 23 January 2004 14:34 (twenty-two years ago)

i go commando

bosie bos, Friday, 23 January 2004 19:48 (twenty-two years ago)

You're supposed to change your underwear? Well shut my mouth wide open...

kentucky boy (nickalicious), Friday, 23 January 2004 19:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Absolutely, unless I'm really lazy about laundry (running out of socks or underwear is usually draw the line though). When it comes to jeans, however, I don't even want to think about how many days in a row I wear them (The Onion's 'Heroic Pair of Jeans Enter 21st Day of Service' to thread).

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 23 January 2004 19:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Underwear?

mei (mei), Saturday, 24 January 2004 01:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Probably about twice a day. I go to the gym a lot.

Matt (Matt), Saturday, 24 January 2004 02:15 (twenty-two years ago)

"Never try to change the bra you do not have, son",
me mommy always told me.

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Saturday, 24 January 2004 02:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Panties twice a day, socks once a day, bras whenever I realize that the current one is getting rancid.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Saturday, 24 January 2004 02:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Nice to see you, Laura.

Matt (Matt), Saturday, 24 January 2004 02:26 (twenty-two years ago)

of course, yes. but when I was much younger my slackjawed yokel cousins from New Mexico found the fact that I did this very very amusing indeed, and figured that I'd only do this if I shit my pants every day. Now how can you argue against that?

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Saturday, 24 January 2004 02:51 (twenty-two years ago)

*smile* Thank you for the kind words, Matt.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Saturday, 24 January 2004 05:21 (twenty-two years ago)

two weeks pass...
Revive!

A friend of mine just returned from the US and told me that people there wear shoes even inside their homes. Is this true? If it is, no wonder you have to change socks every day.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Thursday, 12 February 2004 08:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound so offensive with that question. Any Americans awake to tell me the truth?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Thursday, 12 February 2004 14:50 (twenty-two years ago)

some do, some don't.

Kingfish Beatbox Botox Funktion (Kingfish), Thursday, 12 February 2004 14:51 (twenty-two years ago)

A lot of people in America just have dirt floors, especially in Minnesota, because the weather is so hot. Bare dirt acts as a natural cooling system. So of course they wear shoes inside the house!

My Huckleberry Friend (Horace Mann), Thursday, 12 February 2004 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm sorry if I sounded arrogant, I was really genuinely interested in this, because here in Finland no one wears shoes at home. Besides, I was called Mr. Smelly Feet because I admitted that I often wear the same socks for two days; if I'd have to wear shoes all day I'd probably change my socks daily as well.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Jesus Laura, what do you do in your pants to make them so skanky? Do you bathe twice a day too? I guess if so it makes sense.

Tuomas, you don't sound arrogant, just overly sure of yourself :)

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think you sounded arrogant at all.
I walk a lot, so, like, my socks get nasty. My gotch, not so much, but I walk a lot, so I might get hit by a car.

My Huckleberry Friend (Horace Mann), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:09 (twenty-two years ago)

i wear shoes in my house often because we have wood panel floors and it can feel a bit cold on the feet, even with socks

what i really need is some enormous slippers - and a pipe

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)

and an ascot!

My Huckleberry Friend (Horace Mann), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you change your ascot every day?

My Huckleberry Friend (Horace Mann), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:12 (twenty-two years ago)

(i have poor circulation so my feet are almost always cold)

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I usually wear shoes in the house because just wearing socks seems slovenly and I haven't got any slippers. Also, people who make you take your shoes off when you enter their home are a bit weird.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:17 (twenty-two years ago)

you're not coming to my house in February. Or March.

My Huckleberry Friend (Horace Mann), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

But you've already admitted that your socks get nasty! Why would you want to expose them to others in your house?

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

because your hosts have placed their trust in you as a guest that your socks will feature less grime on them than your skanky trainers

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

sweaty socks vs MUD

My Huckleberry Friend (Horace Mann), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, we don't get much mud around here. Yeah, if I was going to a house in the country with carpets I'd probably take them off if it was muddy out.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:26 (twenty-two years ago)

it's actually snow + sand (which they spread for traction)

My Huckleberry Friend (Horace Mann), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Isn't wearing shoes inside your house by definition less hygienic than wearing socks? I mean, sweat might smell a bit, but it isn't the same thing as dirt.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:27 (twenty-two years ago)

nick's flat has self-cleaning floors.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:29 (twenty-two years ago)

TS: Sweaty socks vs Sweaty underpants.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I change into a clean pair of shoes when I get home from work.

slb, Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:31 (twenty-two years ago)

when I enter a stranger's house and my socks are sweaty, I put my underwear on my feet.

My Huckleberry Friend (Horace Mann), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Isn't wearing shoes inside your house by definition less hygienic than wearing socks? I mean, sweat might smell a bit, but it isn't the same thing as dirt.

Stop being so prissy Tuomas. If you were concerned about getting your cream carpets grubby then fair enough but hygiene? Do you wear a mask when you go outside? I've had about 5 days off work ill in my life, so I don't think wearing shoes indoors is presenting me with that great a health risk!

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay, the bottom line is that I think feet feel more comfortable outside of shoes, and if this isn't a hygiene issue, I can't see the point of wearing them at home.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:59 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, my bottom line is:

1. My mum told me I'd wear out my socks more quickly if I wore them around the house.

2. I am usually too lazy to take them off

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 12 February 2004 16:05 (twenty-two years ago)

But you'll wear out the carpet more quickly if you wear shoes, N. I wear slippers and so do RJG and Ally C. All the cool kids are doing it, hem hem.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 12 February 2004 16:08 (twenty-two years ago)

i wear fuzzy, leopard print slippers.

clearly, everyone should have some. this is the ideal compromise.

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 12 February 2004 16:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I wear slippers too. They're old and knackered and strangly comfy, although they're not confortable to touch. Must be a conditioning thing.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Thursday, 12 February 2004 16:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, my mum wanted me to wear slippers, and I used to, but haven't in ages. If you can find me a non-awful pair, then buy all means get me them for my birthday. I don't want to be slipping over on my wooden floors though. My mum has a relaxed attitude to carpet wear, because we've always had dogs.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 12 February 2004 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

i have a personal record of wearing the same clothes without getting out of them at all for 8 days, but that was a long time ago... now it's every day, the whole lot without question
