boy, 2004 sure had a lot of sophisticated and nuanced takes on gender

a lot of times when i hear women talk about GRS it is framed as "i'd like to wear a swimsuit". this might seem like a silly and trivial reason but the truth is one doesn't need any justification at all for wanting GRS other than "gee i want that and i think it would be neat". there's also a lot of, like, pressure to desexualize any motivations we have, like if someone has any sexual motive for having reconstructive surgery on their sexual organs that's inherently immoral? or something?

swimsuits are the one area of clothing where it's not practical for a trans woman to wear the same kind of swimsuit a cis woman does. honestly i don't know why that is. i never wore a swimsuit pre-GRS. post-GRS i was like "well shit i guess if i went to all this trouble to have this surgery i should at least buy a bikini".

i prefer one-piece swimsuits, i mean, i'm a 47 year old woman and therefore bikinis aren't particularly flattering on me in the way that one-piece swimsuits are. on some trans women it would be flattering. some trans women can rock a bare midriff. i'm not one of them.

anyway if you're a Totally Cis Man and want to wear a women's bikini you _can_ but i don't think it would fundamentally be different from wearing a men's bikini, at least from the perspective of the bottom half

lol i could have phrased that better given that i'm a trans woman and it is practical for me to wear the same kind of swimsuits cis women do

you know what i mean.
