Air vs. Victoria Beckham

Is it just me, or is there an incontrovertible, unsettling similarity between Air’s new single, Cherry Blossom Girl and Victoria Beckham’s recent single, This Groove?

small similarities in the phrasing, but nowhere else really. melodies are completely different.

Charles Hatcher you read my fucking mind - this occurred to me just yesterday. much prefer the trippier Air track tho.

Well, as whole songs Cherry Blossom Girl is far superior, devoid of a bothersome verse to struggle through, but, from my earliest listen, the chorus to This Groove at once seemed brilliant to me, chiefly because of it’s bass line and backing vocals. But then Air appear to be capable of distilling beauty.

Robin, I’ve linked to an MP3 file above that includes a little of Victoria Beckham’s track, for illustration purposes.
