dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 31 January 2004 02:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I got 99% of my games this way!

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Saturday, 31 January 2004 04:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Jet Set Radio Future's pretty great.

may pang (maypang), Saturday, 31 January 2004 04:21 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, but getting Max Payne 2 new was pretty cool, you have to admit. All that DVD-style.

B61 (calstars), Saturday, 31 January 2004 04:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, and there was no way I was waiting around for some spotty 12 year old to sell his copy of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic to EB before I picked it up.

may pang (maypang), Saturday, 31 January 2004 04:31 (twenty-two years ago)

(best game ever, btw)

may pang (maypang), Saturday, 31 January 2004 04:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Now that it sounds like I will be starting a new better paid job, I am going to start a fund to buy a Playstation 2 around May/June and YOU ALL will help me with games advice.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Saturday, 31 January 2004 04:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Here's some early advice: Get an Xbox instead.

may pang (maypang), Saturday, 31 January 2004 05:14 (twenty-two years ago)

LIES!

anyway, i picked up Xenosaga, SSX Tricky, & GTA 3 for about $38 yesterday.

i still need a copy of Dark Cloud 2

Kingfish Funyun (Kingfish), Saturday, 31 January 2004 05:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought this thread was going to be about the voyeuristic pleasure of perusing strangers' saved settings/characters/teams/seasons etc. I guess that's just for cartridges tho.

Aaron A., Saturday, 31 January 2004 06:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I love going to gamestop and getting dreamcast games used for 3 bucks. why go elsewhere? why!/ why you fucker? why!!

Mike Hanle y (mike), Saturday, 31 January 2004 13:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Let's not forget about the joy of preowned board games from thrift stores and garage sales!

Does anyone remember all those motorized 80's board games? There was one with a fishing rod and little fish who opened and closed their mouths. But the best one was this one with penguins being carted around.

Also, fireball island ruled!

Jon Williams (ex machina), Saturday, 31 January 2004 17:58 (twenty-two years ago)

you mean previously enjoyed

s1ocki (slutsky), Saturday, 31 January 2004 18:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Pre-pwned and closeouts are surely thee ONLY way to buy games. Last one = Arx Fatalis, nine ninety-five. I took it to the counter, and the guy scanned it and went "oh, this one's four ninety-five now" !!!! Happy me!!

Pashmina (Pashmina), Saturday, 31 January 2004 18:28 (twenty-two years ago)

(I thought Dan already had Jet Set Radio Future? He was using it as a reason for someone to buy an Xbox on another thread, I thought)

But yes, preowned games rule, or at least don't suck as hard as paying €70.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 2 February 2004 11:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Perhaps this is the way forward for the GC - my PSX (I regret that we have given into marketing and now call them "psone" - I mean it's rubbish isn't it) is knackered and never really coped with the second hand games.

Sarah (starry), Monday, 2 February 2004 11:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I had JSR for Dreamcast. It was the main reason I wanted an X-Box. I now have it for X-Box. I AM FUCKING ECSTATIC.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 2 February 2004 14:27 (twenty-two years ago)

2 things and 2 things only and you'll be just fine:

1. XBox
2. Halo

'Nuff said game over continue on with the drooling :p.

Micheal P, Monday, 2 February 2004 14:29 (twenty-two years ago)

There was one with a fishing rod and little fish who opened and closed their mouths.

My son has an enormous one of those. Them fuckers rival Hungry Hungry Hippos in loudandannoyingkeepingdaddyupallnightness.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 2 February 2004 14:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm getting an Xbox this week! I'm very psyched, and after browsing around Best Buy I'm definitely going to look around for second-hand games (so I can, you know, afford them). So far on my games I want to play list:

DDR Ultramix
Hitman 2
MechWarrior
Burnout 2
Star Wars KOTOR

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 2 February 2004 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Has anyone here bought Mojib Ribbon?? Shocked that it is in furrin?

I'll buy it off you.

(Um I'll need your modded PS2 also)

Sarah (starry), Monday, 2 February 2004 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

is it possible to buy hyper bishi bashi challenge from anywhere?

ken c (ken c), Monday, 2 February 2004 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

JORDAN YOU MUST GET JET SET RADIO FUTURE

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 2 February 2004 18:07 (twenty-two years ago)

OKAY!

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 2 February 2004 18:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Having not played my PS2 in about a year, I finally succumbed to a hankering to buy Vice City and waste another few weeks of my life. And because it was listed in the wrong category I got it about a fiver cheaper than most of the copies on ebay. Hurrah! I think.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 2 February 2004 23:35 (twenty-two years ago)

vice city is so good.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 10:55 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm still stuck, i need to pull it out again.

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 19:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Kingfish Disraeli (Kingfish), Friday, 4 June 2004 15:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Diablo II: Lord of Destruction ($13)
Half Life: Opposing Force (for $5)
Clive Barker's Undying ($10)
Homeworld: Cataclysm ($5)

OH THIS WILL RUIN ME YET.

Kingfish Disraeli (Kingfish), Friday, 4 June 2004 15:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Diablo II expansion = ruin complete.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 4 June 2004 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:03 (twenty-two years ago)

this thread is OTM.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Kingfish Disraeli (Kingfish), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:13 (twenty-two years ago)

cutty when you download xbox games do you just burn 'em to a blank CD?

57 7th (calstars), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I mean DVD

57 7th (calstars), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:15 (twenty-two years ago)

KINGFISH I HAVE THOSE ALL

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:16 (twenty-two years ago)

nick, i have a modded xbox withg a 160GB HD inside it. i download the games, extract them, then ftp into my xbox and copy them over. then the games run off the HD. it's quite fucking amazing.

cutty (mcutt), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:20 (twenty-two years ago)

i also can install linux on it, install homebrew software, and play any movie that mplayer can handle on it. like i said, quite radical.

cutty (mcutt), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:21 (twenty-two years ago)

that's too fucking cool man! how much did the mod run you?

57 7th (calstars), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I LOVE PREOWNED COSNOLES, ESPECIALLY ~IF THEY ~AER TEH EBAY FUNNEY:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8107675670

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:25 (twenty-two years ago)

the modchip was only $60. the HD obviously the going rate for a 160GB maxtor. considering the modchip is the price of a game, it really does pay for itself. i still have to buy xbox live games if i want to play them online though.

cutty (mcutt), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Selling Son's Beloved Play Station 2 For Punishment!

HAR HAR HAR. sucks to be somebody.

Kingfish Disraeli (Kingfish), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:47 (twenty-two years ago)

THE AGGRAVATION OF THE ARUGING

ARUGA!

Lazer Guided Mellow Leee (Leee), Friday, 4 June 2004 21:16 (twenty-two years ago)

that ebay auction makes me skeptical:

it is very suspect to open a bottle of champagne, particularly moet and chandon's don perignon vintage, with a corkscrew.

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 4 June 2004 22:48 (twenty-two years ago)

But that's cos a 13 year old opened it.

Lazer Guided Mellow Leee (Leee), Friday, 4 June 2004 23:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd be happy to find JSRF, let alone pay $20 for it.

Pack Yr Romantic Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Saturday, 5 June 2004 00:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I've got figure out what happened to my SNES, or just buy another one for $20 or whatever.

I did get all my GBA games used, and Halo for $20 last weekend btw.
