what are some places on the internet which you assume everyone knows about, but actually might not. I got to thinking about this yesterday when a heavy net user drew blanks when i mentioned B3TA and anohter recently who had never heard of, let alone visited, mr.goatse.

i've got the fear now that there are some fantastic sites that everyone knows about except me.

No link too obvious!

news.google.com
fark.com (ha -- i completely forgot about fark for about 6 months, after having been a daily visitor for over a year, then I just remembered it. buncha dummies post there, but there're a few quality posters... the news & photoshop contests is where it's at)
http://forums.anandtech.com/categories.cfm?catid=40 -- love this forum for Hot Deals, mainly computer/gadget related

it's weird -- 3 or 4 years ago there were a dozen sites I visited daily. These days there isn't single blog or diary I read regularly, or any other site really.
