What's up with Howard's cancellation by Clear Channel?

So I read on all these news sites last night that Clear Channel dropped him, and today his show just a mash-up of some really good bits. But it's not live.

he's on vacation right now, has nothing to do with the clear channel stuff.

It has nothing to do with the FCC. It's entirely a power play between Infinity/Viacom and Clear Channel. Howard is expensive and Clear Channel doesn't own him.

Howard of course knows this, but the FCC rant is a much more effective headline grabber than the battle of the corporate titans for control of his huge ad revenue.

This is not to say that he hasn't been singled out by the FCC, but that's what he lives for. As soon as he's not getting in trouble for what he says, his show is really over.

heh. and as we know, "Zero-Tolerance" policies are ALWAYS the most rational and well-thought-out way to handle anything...
