Can women be trusted to vote?

It's an age old question, and one that once caused many problems, but did we ever conclude if it was safe or not?

I guess I'm for it. I like the idea that women can vote.

Dave Sim to thread! then to hell!

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 27 May 2004 10:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Depends on who they vote for innit.

Pack Yr Romantic Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 27 May 2004 10:33 (twenty-two years ago)

can men be trusted to vote? certainly not if it's a postal vote, we'd leave the letters unposted on the kitchen table for days!

MarkH (MarkH), Thursday, 27 May 2004 10:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I like voting. It's fun. If you don't vote, you can hardly complain if that lush guy you like gets evicted or doesn't get to represent Ireland in the Eurovision.

That is what you're talking about, right?

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Thursday, 27 May 2004 10:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, of course. What? You mean you thought I might be asking women to vote for politicians? HAHA! They'll only vote for the guy who looks sexy enough.

CRW (CRW), Thursday, 27 May 2004 10:37 (twenty-two years ago)

No human can be trusted to vote. That is why the Computer Tyrants will be making our decisions in future elections.

Vic Fluro, Thursday, 27 May 2004 10:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Ladies! Here's a vote for you. Should Calum Robert Waddell ever post again on ILX?

Yes
No

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 27 May 2004 10:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Someone with NO sense of humour there then.

CRW (CRW), Thursday, 27 May 2004 10:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, humour doesn't come into it. You blew any chance of respect long ago. Just go.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 27 May 2004 10:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I can barely believe that I trust ANYONE to vote. Look around your office/ house/ town . . . would you trust that lot to pick the right guys to run the country?

xpost - I always thouht that CRWs posts were satirical - is this not the case, then?

Johnney B (Johnney B), Thursday, 27 May 2004 10:43 (twenty-two years ago)

All my posts are satirical, but losers like Markelby take them seriously.

CRW (CRW), Thursday, 27 May 2004 10:45 (twenty-two years ago)

having a short temper does not make you a loser.

MarkH (MarkH), Thursday, 27 May 2004 10:46 (twenty-two years ago)

TS: crw as "satirist" vs dave sim as "satirist" vs valerie solanas as "satirist"

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Thursday, 27 May 2004 10:46 (twenty-two years ago)

All my posts are satirical, but losers like Markelby take them seriously.

Whew! Thank god fer that, I was quite worried for a moment that there could be people out there who truly *do* idolise Jack White and Argento!

xpost Sim is better as a mentalist than as a satirist, to state the obvious.

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Thursday, 27 May 2004 10:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Uhm...

CRW (CRW), Thursday, 27 May 2004 10:53 (twenty-two years ago)

solanas is the only one of the three who ever made me laugh, but then i haven't read the earlier, funnier cerebus books yet.

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Thursday, 27 May 2004 10:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Satire?

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Thursday, 27 May 2004 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Very clumsy and continual 'satire' that isn't actually funny and repeatedly targets the same 'victims' (i.e. women) = bigotry, I'm afraid to say, Calum. You are not what you think you are what you do.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Thursday, 27 May 2004 11:55 (twenty-two years ago)

If he is not what he thinks he is what he does then doesn't that, strictly and syntactically speaking, get him off the hook?

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 27 May 2004 11:57 (twenty-two years ago)

cuz I am, whatever you say I am/if I wasn't, then why would I say I am

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Thursday, 27 May 2004 11:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Um, no, cos I missed a comma.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Thursday, 27 May 2004 12:02 (twenty-two years ago)

three years pass...

Dom Passantino, Friday, 6 July 2007 14:00 (eighteen years ago)
