Which characters would you like to get their own shows? And what would be the concept?

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 7 June 2004 10:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Good question. Comic-book guy springs to mind for some reason.

Bumblebee man would make an interesting concept, but not a full half hour show.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Monday, 7 June 2004 10:56 (twenty-two years ago)

No pitches?

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 7 June 2004 11:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Monday, 7 June 2004 11:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes yes, but I thought between us we might have a few more ideas. Maybe everyone is off developing them.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 7 June 2004 11:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I think there should be one called "Everything's Comin' Up Milhouse!"

sgs (sgs), Monday, 7 June 2004 11:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, wait. Out of context, that doesn't read so well. Whoops.

sgs (sgs), Monday, 7 June 2004 11:27 (twenty-two years ago)

How about Simpsons Babies? All of the adult simpsons characters .. and what they were like .. as babies!

.. Or, a live-action & cartoon combination .. (like Roger Rabbit or SpaceJam ) where Disco Stu dances to all of the latest hits .. wait ... next to .. wait ... JOEY LAWRENCE!

Both are fucking gold. Let's get started on these, like, yesterday.

dave225 (Dave225), Monday, 7 June 2004 11:29 (twenty-two years ago)

No, it does, Sarah. What would the premise of the show be?

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 7 June 2004 11:29 (twenty-two years ago)

MCBAINE! HALF AN HOUR OF MCBAINE!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 7 June 2004 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

oh wait...

stevem (blueski), Monday, 7 June 2004 12:02 (twenty-two years ago)

i liked that spin-off episode a lot. i wonder if it was something that was seriously considered at one point. i doubt they would work considering how The Critic and Futurama are technically deemed 'failures' (esp. the former tho what i saw of it seemed good). i'm so fed up with The Simpsons as it is that the idea of spin-offs featuring only one or two of the characters does not appeal to me at all.

having said that...

Lenny & Carl. road trip USA. please.

Springfield Public Access. It would make a good 30 minute show, where everyone gets five minutes to do their bit.

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Gil Communication.

Dunno what it'd entail, but it's a good title to start with.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:02 (twenty-two years ago)

isn't it Mcgarnacle? he could quit the force and join the Sea Captain. Mcgarnacle's Barnacles. the old bearded guy = Jasper.

Bumblebee man would make an interesting concept, but not a full half hour show.

But Bumblebee man was a show well before the Simpsons came along! It was the ultimate show that got white people watching Univision, cause you flip past and it's just like a normal sitcom except Dude is Dressed Like a Bumblebee. Why? I still don't know. Does anyone know?

(More recent Telemundo madness: there's this show set in a giant oversized kindergarten classroom, and there are all these middle-aged chubby guys dressed up as children, right, sitting in these huge oversized child-chairs so their feet don't touch the ground, and then there are the "little girls," who are these huge-breasted hotties in tiny little-girl Bo Peep outfits, and the teacher is always threatening to spank someone with a ruler . . . I so need to learn Spanish.)

nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 7 June 2004 15:58 (twenty-two years ago)

hahaha i've seen that show! there is always the lecherous old man/buxom young girl dicotomy on univision
