Is that how many Teps it takes?

More would spoil the gazpacho.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude.

I just had some leftover duck with crispy pork belly, potatoes, and chipotle hot sauce.

I don't know if this is a drunk thread, a parody thread, or an anagram for Spit Sex.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Just as long as it isn't an honest picture request.

Three.

dave225 (Dave225), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 14:25 (twenty-two years ago)

TOO MANY TEPS! I'm not going to share with myself.

Was anyone else disappointed -- speaking of the Tootsie Pop ads -- that nothing other than Tootsie Pops and ... Tootsie Gems? Tootsie Nuggets? the stickless pops ... came in that fake not-at-all chocolate flavor? It's a good flavor. It just isn't chocolate. It's less chocolate than the grape is grape.

I always thought the owl in the ad was the same as the owl on the Wise potato chip bags, too.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 14:28 (twenty-two years ago)

the fake chocolate flavor is my favorite, no question.

dave225 (Dave225), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 14:33 (twenty-two years ago)

How many Teps could a Tep Tep if a Tep could Tep?

Be sure to Tep! Tep, Tep, Tep, Tep, Tep (Barima), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 14:33 (twenty-two years ago)

See, we need more of that fake chocolate. It's not even the same kind of fake chocolate as the Tootsie rolls themselves! No one would get away with that today. Someone in quality control would totally call them on it, and it'd end up being called Mochaberry Delite or Robert Browning. Back in the day, you could get away with murder.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Murder != Death by Chocolate

though I like this one, too

http://tang.mspencer.net/doll/doll_tep.jpg

luna (luna.c), Friday, 11 June 2004 17:30 (twenty-two years ago)

If you have to make the vinegar chicken without chopping the bones, it still works, just not as well -- it's better than using boneless, in any case.

(If you don't have a good knife of some kind -- something you aren't worried will break -- it's probably best not to chop the bones.)

So, three of the alternate universe Teps are a cat made out of pipe cleaners, by the looks of it; an elf with a stick; and a mighty carpenter. With me, that makes four.

WHO OR WHAT ARE THE MYSTERIOUS TWO REMAINING TEPS?

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 11 June 2004 17:40 (twenty-two years ago)

One is in law enforcement: http://www.ifip.com/tep.jpg

and the other, well.. it's a tree: http://www.chesco.com/~treeman/SHIGO/TEP-1.jpg

luna (luna.c), Friday, 11 June 2004 17:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Moral inteptitude.

martin m. (mushrush), Friday, 11 June 2004 17:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I've always wanted to win the Tep tree award.

(I'm just making the pun before I'm beaten to it.)

(It isn't a good pun.)

So the Tep cat gets caught in the Tep tree, and the Tep cop is all like "yo, we gotta rescue it," so the Tep carpenter chops it down, and the Tep elf makes the tree into his stick, while the Tep me cooks the cat?

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 11 June 2004 17:44 (twenty-two years ago)

"Six Teps" should've just been an answer to "Sex Tips," instead of a parody thread.

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 11 June 2004 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Tep, I think the Tep elf is the bastard who lured the Tep cat into the Tep tree in the first place. He's mischievous like a lot of elves.

martin m. (mushrush), Friday, 11 June 2004 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Reservoir Tep.

martin m. (mushrush), Friday, 11 June 2004 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Fucking Tep elf!

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 11 June 2004 17:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Christ, my own name looks weird and bizarre and worn-out to me now. Maybe I'll change it to ' or Epi or il.

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 11 June 2004 17:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Watch out for that hatpin.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 11 June 2004 17:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I had a cane just like that when I was a mopey teenager in a trenchcoat. Except mine had a compass in the top thing, if you unscrewed it.

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 11 June 2004 17:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Christ, my own name looks weird and bizarre and worn-out to me now.

Sorry if I caused you any pain. It was uninteptional.

martin m. (mushrush), Friday, 11 June 2004 17:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Aaaack.

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 11 June 2004 17:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't worry, Tep. Someday there will be a thread that makes my name turn weird and bizarre. Then you will have the last laugh.

martin m. (mushrush), Friday, 11 June 2004 21:30 (twenty-two years ago)

confession: i have read the first two books of l. ron hubbard's "battlefield earth" - in its world the most common name is "Ip"

(re: the chicken, tep, no words need be said)

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 11 June 2004 23:58 (twenty-two years ago)

So like the syllable "tep" has totally lost all meaning to me now. If/When I meet you can I call you Bill so I don't tall flip the fuck out?

nickalicious (nickalicious), Sunday, 13 June 2004 07:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Of course! Everyone's weirded out by calling me something.

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 14 June 2004 00:01 (twenty-one years ago)

tep is a fine syllable.

Psychotic Episode (Psychotic Episode), Monday, 14 June 2004 00:14 (twenty-one years ago)

two years pass...
This is why it's weird searching for my name on ILE.

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 2 February 2007 16:55 (nineteen years ago)

It's different.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 2 February 2007 17:20 (nineteen years ago)

I usually cleverly put my name in threads that I want to find later, but every once in a while something like this one (and one about nickalicious and zombie cock or something) throws me off.

And my name has definitely lost all meaning!

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 2 February 2007 17:23 (nineteen years ago)

It's just early this-decade nostalgia. You're ahead of the game.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 2 February 2007 17:31 (nineteen years ago)

I can't be nostalgic for that little elf fella.

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 2 February 2007 17:35 (nineteen years ago)

There needs to be cloning so you can pitch "America's 12-Tep Program" to Fox.

do i have to draw you a diaphragm (Rock Hardy), Friday, 2 February 2007 18:54 (nineteen years ago)

I had a gmail ad for cloning yesterday -- "handmade clones." I'm waiting to see if they're handmade, organic, free range, artisanal clones.

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 2 February 2007 19:01 (nineteen years ago)

Can you imagine a future where there are ads for artisanal clones 'made the old fashioned way'?

M. White (Miguelito), Friday, 2 February 2007 19:07 (nineteen years ago)

Here at Old Crick Ranch, we do things the old-fashioned way. The slow way. We don't growth-accelerate our clones -- your clones -- with hyperoats, we feed them good old-fashioned food just like you had when you were growing up. Banana pills, meat and meat accessories, and Vege-Cola. We don't hang them up on hooks at night to sleep, we let them roam the countryside, camping and telling stories in bunkbeds. And when it's your time, when God's will grants that you are ready to depart from your birth body and resume a life of healthy organs and fresh young tissue, we transfer your consciousness the same way we did in your grand-daddy's day: not with fancy "computers" and "telepathic rewiring," but by removing your brain and putting it in the skull of your recently deceased clone.

It's slow. It's old-fashioned. Dadgummit, they may call it archaic. But it's the right thing to do, and the right way to do it, and that's just how it's done ... down at Old Crick Ranch.

See, THIS is why I should never leave home, I have a book in which the premise is that a guy who was hired as overseer on a clone farm gets a conscience and breaks them out and then has to go on the lam with all of them in tow while he cracks the case/alerts the right people to keep them safe. Would post jpg here but I can't remember the title. OH WAIT yes I do.
