Dear ILX,

Can you please post a picture of Steve Guttenberg on your great forum - ideally without his top on? It would really make my day.

Thanks
Stacy

Stacy Reed, Wednesday, 9 June 2004 11:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Looks like you are in luck today Stacy. Have fun.

that made my day, too.

"honest"

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 11:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Argh, my eyes.

(Which reminds me, I need to find sexy topless pictures of Jeff Goldblum to prove to my ex housemate that he might actually be considering sexy by some.)

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 11:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh good lord... that has got to be the most bizarre site I have ever seen in my entire life. Holy crap. I mean, holy Jeff Goldblum watching you crap.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 11:46 (twenty-two years ago)

It was news to me!

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 11:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Younger and nakeder, please. I'm thinking of the bit in The Fly where he gets naked. Well, obviously before he turns into a bizarre half-insect, half-Jeff Goldblum creature. But that sort of era.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 11:52 (twenty-two years ago)

You're gonna do your own Jeffporn search. Though I did find a nice one of brundlefly gooing someones head or something.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 11:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Yo. Kate. Anyone ever told you that you give women a bad name?

CRW (CRW), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 11:56 (twenty-two years ago)

and the list of things that CRW gives a bad name begins:

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 11:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I think thats a Bon Jovi reference.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 11:59 (twenty-two years ago)

So let me get this straight, a thread which features a woman's naked bum is LOCKED but a thread which features a topless man is not?

That says it all about ILX and its dubious, pathetic double standards doesn't it?

CRW (CRW), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 12:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Ohh, I can smell a lock coming...

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 12:41 (twenty-two years ago)

if you walk around the streets of the us and uk, those two places this board is most established, you will see more man torso than arse of whatever gender.
i don't like to think of it as pathetic, more as one of those little quirks which makes us all so lovable.

matthew james (matthew james), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 12:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Since this thread's gonna get locked I'd like to point out how much I want me one of these things:

http://www.kiwiaircraftimages.com/images/main/barber/SNARK1.JPG

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 12:45 (twenty-two years ago)

It's Pc gone insane. "It's alright to show nude men and have Kate badger on about naked blokes than to show nude women". Women is strip clubs try and rip the clothes off men and act like thugs. Men in strip clubs do not. But - hey - it's acceptable if it's done to a guy, right?

CRW (CRW), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

yep.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

First rule of comedy:

It doesn't work if the source is in a position of power.

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 12:49 (twenty-two years ago)

So let me get this straight, a thread which features a woman's naked bum is LOCKED but a thread which features a topless man is not?

And you think it's not blindingly obvious who started this thread, dude? Also, it's a huge double standard for ILX to adopt a double standard (men without shirts v. women without shirts) that is well-established in the vast majority of the Western world.

Why do you utterly fail to comprehend that the communal objections here are not to discussions of sex/physique, generally, but to *your* peculiar and offensive attitudes towards same? If you can't understand why we object to you and not ourselves, perhaps you need to think a little harder about your attitudes.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 12:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Your argument ignores one particular key ingredient: ASS. AND THE EXPOSURE TO EYES THEREOF.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 12:51 (twenty-two years ago)

We've been going over this for how many monthes?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 12:52 (twenty-two years ago)

He actually said "it's PC gone insane" & meant it and was serious omg I think I am gonna die laughing

Thomas Tallis (Tommy), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 12:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm happy Nickalicious is back and I consider it a grave injustice that he is not the owner of a SNARK.

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 12:53 (twenty-two years ago)

you know how a few years ago at the NME awards they invited blakey from on the buses, for a laugh? someone should take crw to the pub under the same premise.

matthew james (matthew james), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 12:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Thats just the way it is C, better get used to it now. Or start some sort of movement

Or something.

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 12:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, but Blakey is a fictitious character, kept 'alive' by Stephen Lewis.

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 12:55 (twenty-two years ago)

he did turn up in a bus conductors uniform, suspension of disbelief and so on.

matthew james (matthew james), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 12:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Yo. Kate. Anyone ever told you that you give women a bad name?

Number 5 in an occassional series: I misread this as Kate giving bald women a bad name.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 13:19 (twenty-two years ago)

you're not the fewl mark.

Tim, i understood it was common sense that a rear-end (regardless of gender) was considered more 'obscene' than a male chest. men don't get arrested for walking around shirtless etc.

interestingly the gap has closed in the press and on TV. have seen cheeky glimpses of both male and female arses in recent years. no female breasts yet of course, tho cleavage in abundance and a glimpse of curvature now and then (Blackthorn advert i think it was?) has been known.

OHMIGOD, I HAD FORGOTTEN THAT JEFF GOLDBLUM WAS IN BUCKAROO BANZAI!!! What a freaking great film. He always plays bizarre sexy-nerd scientist types, doesn't he? No wonder I find him bizarrely attractive. It's not the actor, it's the role.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 13:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Steve, I was just surprised there was a difference at all. It was just a bit of fun, like.

JEFF GOLDBLUM PLAYED JAMES WATSON??!?!?! THERE IS A MOVIE OF THE DOUBLE HELIX!?!?!? I NEED THIS, I NEED THIS NOW!!!

Yes, Kate! We watched in 9th-grade biology class. I don't remember if the movie is any good or not, but Goldblum is pretty awesome. I seem to remember him munching on something (like an orange) in almost every scene he's in.
