I thought Dizzee was on an indie.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 13:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Huh? I didn't know anything about this!*

*Which is sadly the story of just about every job I've ever had.

A memo we got when "corporate" came included the sentence, "Remove pictures and Momento's from your workspace."

If corporate could only see what a dumass they had sending memo'ses too they're staff.

dave225 (Dave225), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 13:55 (twenty-two years ago)

This is where I realize I've NEVER had a job where corporate comes to visit! Yay!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 13:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, I guess a visit from Corporate is like "Oh no, the Americans are coming" here. Which means I do nothing different except maybe growl louder.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 13:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I need mimosas in my workspace.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 13:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Is that you second from the left in Andrew's pic, teeny?

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 13:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I need to be hooked to an iv filled with mimosa.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 13:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Liquor on your breath when CORPORATE comes to visit, C/D?

sexyDancer, Wednesday, 9 June 2004 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I only ever saw our former CEO once. I was working in Scotland and he popped in to the location for a visit on his way to play golf at St. Andrews.

He was very short.

robster (robster), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Though I tend to hide when corp comes around because the only reason they show their faces is to recertify our ISO.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

tostitos in the break room!

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 14:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, I guess a visit from Corporate is like "Oh no, the British are coming" here. Which means I do nothing different except maybe brush up on my football knowledge.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 14:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Liquor on your breath when CORPORATE comes to visit, C/D?

Eat a Mentos to remove the smell of mimosas.

dave225 (Dave225), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 14:04 (twenty-two years ago)

One of our Head Honchos graced our office to reward us on winning some new contract. We all thought we'd be getting a rise or somesuch. On the day we were all sent an email asking us to go into the Conference Room where the 'Cake Break' would be taking place. Cake Break? WTF?

We duly filed in, the High Heed Yin said his piece then brought in the cakes "for all our hard work"

Yay - a sweaty yum-yum.

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 14:07 (twenty-two years ago)

sweaty?

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 14:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Once I worked for a company that was on its last legs, and the two guys who founded it were desperate to sell to someone and not lose their shirts. I remember one day these guys were showing some potential buyers around and actually arranged beforehand for some of their friends to come in and sit in empty desks, to make the place "look busier."

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 15:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Traitor, did you work at ENRON?

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 15:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Corporate (hot shot lawyers from SD) IS coming to visit here today. and my hair's all mussed up and I have my "fascist" shirt on.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 15:51 (twenty-two years ago)

ok they're gone now.

teeny (teeny), Thursday, 10 June 2004 20:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Today I have "training". Warrggghhh. I thought it was Monday. The boss emailed me YESTERDAY - my day off - at my work account to tell me it was now Friday morning first thing. Good thing I actually got here an hour early coz I was terrified of the Hackney bus system.
