I have Blundstones as well. Those are Blundstone right? Have always found them remarkably comfortable from the off (unlike Timberlands and Redwings which always seem to chafe my ankles). Anyway here are my latest ones. I love them:

http://spa.fotologs.net/?u=dubmill&i=2004/06/14/1087242465.jpg&c=f

David (David), Monday, 14 June 2004 18:51 (twenty-two years ago)

No, they're not Blundstones they're Rossi (also Australian).. but I tried to save $15 and got a bunch of blisters. Oh well. They're also kangaroo leather and maybe a little too soft.

andy, Monday, 14 June 2004 18:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I have these Hush Puppies and I fucking love them.

I have these too

Jon in R'lyeh (ex machina), Monday, 14 June 2004 18:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I bought my first Blundstones c.1991 from the now-defunct P.I.L. in Neal Street, London. They hadn't been seen in Britain before. The ones I bought recently I got off eBay - lots of Australians selling them on there..quite a bargain compared to shop prices in the UK (even after adding in shipping).

David (David), Monday, 14 June 2004 19:00 (twenty-two years ago)

peep these:

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 14 June 2004 19:11 (twenty-two years ago)

i just bought two pairs of these, but in different, brighter, more annoying color schemes

http://www.jumpmankicks.com/trainer3-1.jpg

JaXoN (JasonD), Monday, 14 June 2004 20:18 (twenty-two years ago)

those are shoes for the consummate LAKER FAGN.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 14 June 2004 20:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, does anyone know where to get canvas lace-up winos? I know of a surplus store in SilverLake but I can't find them anywhere online, only slip-on... help me out please.

andy, Monday, 14 June 2004 20:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Hrm... I think if you're gonna own more than one pair in different colors they have to be one of the following:

women's dress shoes
doc martens
old pumas
vans
chucks (but only if the colors are red, black and/or white)

Now, that's just my opinion on the multiple same shoe ownership issue.

martin m. (mushrush), Monday, 14 June 2004 20:23 (twenty-two years ago)

the two versions i bought are obviously not that bright or annoying. one's light and dark grey with green and the other's tan and blue.

but there's a huge old school nike fetish culture. my wife has various versions of the old Dunks and a few Blazers (even one in plaid)

http://www.asos.com/images/prods/AMCFT4001/image1l.JPG http://www.pickyourshoes.com/images/shoes/blazer_w_x_blue.jpg

JaXoN (JasonD), Monday, 14 June 2004 20:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, I guess I was never a Nike person myself. Which explains why old school Nikes have no effect on me fetish- or nostalgia-wise.

Chucks, on the other hand...

martin m. (mushrush), Monday, 14 June 2004 20:34 (twenty-two years ago)

bill stevens (bscrubbins), Tuesday, 15 June 2004 02:57 (twenty-two years ago)

You wear one other pair of shoes until you're on the street outside the club, then you switch into your nice clean ones right before you go inside.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Tuesday, 15 June 2004 03:01 (twenty-two years ago)

no. i actually wear them out dancing every other week. short answer is that i live somewhere dry (which helps a lot) and i try to stay out of the dirt, and sadly they don't keep all that clean anyway.

Laurel, Saturday, 22 September 2007 23:36 (eighteen years ago)

Ugh, that Daily Mail article (StanM's post) - just lie after lie, those style of shoes have been around for years, plus I own a similar pair (to the first pair - United Nudes) and they're SO comfortable, no different to walk in than 'normal' heels except easier because the heel isn't a tiny thin strip of plastic that can snap or get caught in between paving stones.
The centre of gravity isn't anywhere different.

Hehe, Daily Mail in talking shit shocker...

Not the real Village People, Sunday, 23 September 2007 00:43 (eighteen years ago)

The top pair seem much like wedges -- and I find the hardest thing about wedges is the lack of a hinge in the middle of the foot, the "tipping forward" thing is universal to shoes with rigid soles. The part that's completely awful, I think, is the pink pair with much a shorter extension that threaten to toss you over backwards...and what do you do when you start falling backwards? You step backwards...ONTO YOUR HEELS. Kaboom. I guess the point is that anyone retarded enough to buy them deserves what they get.
