Their is a tune called Maggies party/the bass goes on that has Maggy Thatcher samples all over it. It is a 90-91 rave tune and it rocks. Anyone know where i can download it from? I also want the rave tune 'promised land' with the Kieth Sweat sample where he sings about the angels up above etc. Any help would great.

Was that just inspired by my post on the pithy dance music phrases thread? That's a grebt tune. Unfortunately the only copy I have of it in the world is 3rd division tape copy with muffling and hiss all over it.

yes it was matt, what a tune! I have a tape version but I want that tune on my ipod. best bit 'everyone can see and everybody knows, that this party is a good party, and it will go on.' Most political dance record ever?

lukey you want 'Promised Land' by Joe Smooth as covered by Paul Weller (Style Council) no? i don't know where Keith Sweat of all people comes into that tho.

Surely the best bit is "this is a better record than the Labour party could ever have"?

I actually have a CD version of this that someone sent me, but the quality is once again k-rub and it is badly mixed into the theme from Minder, of all things.

i think i *may* have a copy of this straight off the radio, but again, it's tape and it was off an almost pirate that was *just* within range of my house. i seem to recall however that it wasn't actual maggie though, rather a steve nallon like impersonator...
