Has anyone else been having problems with PayPal?
P.S. I hate computers.

(on a side note, knowing some of your tastes, I'd probably love to buy some rare records from you!)

Is it legitimate for a shop to send you a PayPal invoice through an email attachment? I've been arranging to buy I book and they sent me such an email with attachment.
Can't find much advice about this.

Paypal has an invoicing feature for business. Is the question whether it should come in the body of the email or as an attachment?

Yeah I'm not used to it coming as an attachment. It's usually in the body of the email. I'm a bit worried about what to say to them because I don't feel comfortable downloading an attachment.
― Robert Adam Gilmour, Wednesday, 19 November 2014 23:55 (eleven years ago)
Actually the attachment is an rtf (rich text file), so it might just be instructions.

Does anyone know how many days the "Monthly limit" is? I have a $500 monthly limit on withdrawls and I withdrew that amount 9/9/2015. Went in today to withdraw the remaining $200+ and it said I still had to wait.

I wanted to buy a Syrian-Greek record from a friend of mine, but because i used the word "syrian" in the comments section, paypal will not let me buy it. i sent them an email explaining that i just wanted to buy a record, made in the U.S.A. in the thirties; i sent them a photo of a label and jumped through their "resolution center" hoops. NO DICE.
ended up just sending the guy a few cents less and no problems with the payment.

there's a class action about this IIRC. google around. whatever you can do to fuck PayPal over from the buyers' end is time well spent imho

did they just (just = less than a year ago) remove the ability to download a detailed version of your activity for personal accounts? Detailed = shows gross, separate column for fees, separate column for net.
Yeah, I should probably get a business account.
Still annoying though.

Hey, wondering if anyone knows which places accept paypal (restaurants) as method of payment. it seems nearly impossible to find any place and their tech support licks

I've had an account for probably a decade, rarely used it after the first couple of years. When I used it the other day, it was fine, but they wanted my phone number for extra security. So I updated that, and was immediately enmeshed in one of those maddening feedback loops that go along with having a landline and no cell: if you want to opt out of verification codes via messaging you have to log in, but you can't log in because you don't have messaging.
Managed to get a human being on the phone, and since they wouldn't let me out of two-step, I happily cancelled the account. At first it felt like they weren't even going to let me do that--you can't access your account and you can't cancel it either--but I, uh, very calmly explained why that didn't make me happy.
