It's just the first few seconds of each tape. I used to repair audio cassetttes with a blade and sticky tape. Can I unscrew, chop and repair a videocassette? Advice please.

When you play it back, the synch will be out for a bit, but the VCR's tracking will slide it back into action quickly enough. She'll never know.
