Bleach Highlights on dyed hair?

Hi I was wondering if you could answer this question for me, I have recently died my hair a lighter borwn than it was and was wondering if it would be possible to put bleach blonde highlights on top of this?

The short answer to your question is definitely. Bleach highlights are always appropriate, especially as we enter the magic of the summer social season. You'll look younger, thinner, and better nourished with bleach highlights.

But how to do it. Ah, indeed. It's not as easy a process as you might imagine. But fortunately, all the tools you need are as close as your kitchen. That's right, a home highlight job can be every bit as successful as a high priced treatment from a salon charging eight, ten, even as much as $12. My, how you'll laugh as you become more beautiful AND save money at the same time.

A mixture of lemon juice, sun-in, and chlorox, thickened with a reduction of heavy cream, corn starch and cake flour is your first step. Streak on the paste in concentric circles moving out from the crown. Some people like the aluminum foil method, but I recommend duct tape instead. It's literally fool proof. Wrap each strand in duct tape and wait 20 minutes. Shower off the duct tape and the corrosive mixture, et voila! Instant beauty!

Thanks very much for the advice! So even though I am bleaching already dyed hair the outcome will be the same and nothing disastrous will happen?

i also vouch for the duct tape method. the threads in the tape absorb the bleach mixture and really add depth to your highlights-- it's like highlights on highlights.

I'm beginning to think you people just don't understand fashion! I happen to know that the guy in the picture above didn't follow the instructions carefully. I specified the use Chlorox brand bleaching agent, which is known for its high quality. That, that, guy, used purex or some other inferior store brand. If you fail to follow instructions, one can't vouch for the consequences. That's what's wrong with most people in this ever-changing world in which we live in.

skottie OTM. one thing i'd recommend to make sure the color sets properly is the rubbing the pulp of whole bananas all the way through to the scalp and leaving exposed to air for 25 minutes. the potassium and zogwax12 nutrients will give your hair a radiant glow.

you can, but at a packet or two of artificial sweetener to the highlight mix. it keeps teh stinging down. Seriously, James Marsters would mention this alla time in interviews, since he had to bleach his hair so much.

I've always enjoyed a bleach/ammonia mixture. But, admittedly, many people are put off by the lethal chlorine gas that's released. To each his own, I say.

Another process that works surprisingly well doesn't involve harsh chemicals or messy clean-up. And it works especially well on already-colored dark hair in today's no-nonsense styles specifically designed for your (sexually) active lifestyle.

As any scientist, metaphysician, or rockist can tell you, darker hair pigment is carried on the exterior of the individual hair shaft. The color can literally be scraped away, revealing a much lighter tint below. Any sharp kitchen cutlery tool will work, but I find that a glass shard is faster and easier to manage.

Simple strike sharply a dark colored glass bottle against a brick or concrete surface. Personally, I prefer a small guiness stout bottle, or one of those charming flasks from Grolsch. Pick up a piece of the resulting shards, and use the thin, leading edge, to literally slice out the old color, slice in the summer highlights!

Leave all those harsh chemicals to the younger set! Enjoy the new, beautiful you!
