that programme on ch.4 where they send kids back to 1960s-style schooling was a highlight. i also like nip/tuck. that new nylon series looks like it might be cringeworthy in the adverts.

bad girls is as much fun as i get out of the telly these days.

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 11:52 (twenty-one years ago)

EXTREME ARCHEOLOGY!!!

I cannot stress this enough. It's taken over Time Team's old Sunday night C4 slot. It's the younger bunch from TT (Alice, Katie, etc.) actually doing GENUINE ARCHEOLOGY while rapelling down cliffs and bungee jumping into rivers and stuff like that. It is the best thing on telly at the moment.

Except for the Lost Buildings of Britain and that Monopoly Board programme (I think that's curiously on ITV... maybe? Can't recall.)

Super-Masonic Black Hole (kate), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 11:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I wish they'd bring back that programme with Lisa Tarbuck, where a panel decides who to give loads of money too.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Has anyone seen any of the new series of WLTM?

Ricardo (RickyT), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Coronation Street.
Bad Lads Army.

apart from that the best shows are Soprano's and 6ftUnder but they don't really count i suppose.

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

dickvandyke (dickvandyke), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't see much beyond The Fairly Odd Parents, myself.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:02 (twenty-one years ago)

'dumber and dumber'

ENRG, Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Harry and Kosh

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Whicker's War. "When there was a cameraman around, General Montgomery was highly skilled in pointing at nothing in particular." Genius.

Marcello Carlin, Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Dumber and Dumber
Olympics
The OC
Antiques Roadshow

All the above are programmes I do my best not to miss.

Madchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:06 (twenty-one years ago)

The BBC2 documentary on Robert Wyatt was very good indeed and long overdue (I know it was on BBC4 originally, but I don't have a digital box yet so I'm glad to see all these music docs being repeated).

Marcello Carlin, Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I like Bad Lads Army an awful lot as well, more than I should probably.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:11 (twenty-one years ago)

catching odd things on BBC4 is great, but mainly the stuff i regularly enjoy is imported. Samurai Jack, Malcom in the Middle.

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:13 (twenty-one years ago)

> odd things on BBC4

the kasparov vs big blue thing last night was great.

koogs (koogs), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I watched Steve Buscemi's Sopranos debut on E4 last night. My head nearly exploded with joy.

Wooden (Wooden), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Popworld!

marianna lcl, Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:45 (twenty-one years ago)

i haven't caught popworld in aaaages. dear alan, actually GET UP in the morning sometimes, eh?

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Popworld's been getting chopped up with the cricket in recent weeks, tho.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I never see Popworld, doubtless due to that antiquated custom I have of sleeping in on Sundays.

Marcello Carlin, Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Ooh, and Baywatch Hawaii!

marianna lcl, Wednesday, 18 August 2004 13:21 (twenty-one years ago)

pokermillions on sky.

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 13:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Popworld? OOh no. Far too much sarcasm so early in the morning.

Give me BAD GIRLS and Tru Calling. And that's about it.
Oh, and the intro bits in T4 - so I can watch the presenter.

hobart paving (hobart paving), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 13:24 (twenty-one years ago)

What, June Sarpong? She's horrible.

I'm making the huge assumption that you're a heterosexual male.

Wooden (Wooden), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 13:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, one half of that assumption is correct..

No, it aint June.

hobart paving (hobart paving), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 13:28 (twenty-one years ago)

The return of The Sopranos was mark-out moment central.

"Mommy!"
"Get the egg salad out of his mouth!"
"I got a fleece".

Brilliant.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 13:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I loved Pauly whacking that waiter. He's become my favourite character.

Wooden (Wooden), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 13:35 (twenty-one years ago)

'Location, Location, Location' for connoisseurs of hammy presenting who aren't envious of young couples in their early twenties with alarmingly high amounts of money.

Bob Six (bobbysix), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 14:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Channel 5 weather, with Lara Lewington

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 14:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Gilette Soccer Saturday with Jeff Stelling, I can do without pretty much everything else.

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 15:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I wish they'd bring back that programme with Lisa Tarbuck, where a panel decides who to give loads of money to.

God, that was rubbish.

the kasparov vs big blue thing last night was great

I made Madchen cry by watching this.

Ally C (Ally C), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 15:20 (twenty-one years ago)
