Now that ImageMagician has started charging, I was wondering if there any good image hosting places that allow remote linking out there?
I am considering paying for image magician, but don't have a visa (other than electron) or credit card.

I use photobox.co.uk, which seems to allow direct linking.. sometimes. It's odd.

Even yahoo/geocities lets you see the image if you've viewed it in proper context first. It's cacheing.

That's true N, but I take it from Mitch's response that he saw it, unless he was kidding?

i definitely see a painting. the right hand looks kind of like pink bubbles merging or maybe a close up of buttocks if you are a pervertalist. it did take a while to load the first time.

It seems to take a very very long time to download, rather than being specifically blocked.

MIne starts contacting graffiti.net when I refresh but then pretends it didn't.

Jel, do you want confirmation that other ILXers can see it?
I can see it. (Bookshelf with TV, phone directory, etc.) And I can't see the one you posted near the top of the thread.
What hosting website are you using now?

Thanks!
It's weird the TV is from angelfire account. Maybe, they are allowing remote hosting again.

I can see the one of the TV fine. The one of the (very nice) painting I saw when you first posted it. Now it downloads, as Graham says, incredibly slowly. It's a very large file isn't it. Maybe there's a problem when a number of people are simultaneously trying to download it (as in now when this thread is near the top of the pile).
On a more general note: maybe I've been very fortunate but I've always relied on the webspace provided with my various ISP dial-up accounts and never have any of these problems. I have large numbers of images linked from eBay auction pages and they all load reliably
(I delete my browser cache after every session so the images are downloading fresh each time).

Oh, David you are right (thanks)! I didn't realise that the first one is nearly a 1MB. Weird! I usually check the size before I upload them. I shall remove it from my account.
