Pentagon censors crass old Iraqi Freedom psy-ops leaflets

During Iraqi Freedom, Central Command air forces dumped tons of leaflets in a psy-ops campaign. The belief was that these would persuade Iraqis that we were looking out for them and that only people who dared to shoot at American forces would be harmed.

The campaign was more successful with the US media. It obviously did not work in Iraq as intended.

The Pentagon has pulled a number of these images, whereas over a year ago it often tried to drum up news about them. Some of the redactions are obvious attempts at sanitization of the war, like the image of a dead guy or an Iraqi soldier being bombed. Others are simply strange or hilarious.
