I live right by Chinatown, and I've seen the number of these hat-visor-facemasks rise exponentially over the last month. Men, women, and children are wearing them. I want to make fun of them but they're sort of a cool futuristic idea.

"Part hat, part mask, part visor, it's a new piece of bicycle headgear that only Darth Vader - and scads of Asian women - could love."

No, those are hottt.

Send me one, I'll wear it on the subway.

also good for concealing your identity from the scores of CCTV cameras everywhere...

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Thursday, 26 August 2004 16:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm taking orders.... If I order 500 we can have "ILX" embroidered across the terrycloth band in Olde English letters. Choose pink, turquoise or buff. One size fits all.

andy, Thursday, 26 August 2004 16:30 (twenty-one years ago)

is buff really a color??

jones (actual), Thursday, 26 August 2004 16:32 (twenty-one years ago)

buff is more a state of mind, I think

Jimmy Mod, Man About Towne (ModJ), Thursday, 26 August 2004 16:33 (twenty-one years ago)

"I saw a lot of other people wearing them, so I got one," says Li Gui Qing.

I think the Cold War is officially over. We have won.

"Men can't be afraid of the sun, that's not masculine"

sexyDancer, Thursday, 26 August 2004 18:05 (twenty-one years ago)

i would wear one biking because:
a) the sun gets in my eyes
b) i wear glasses
c) i don't have enough $ to buy perscription sunglasses
d) maybe it'd keep the bugs out of my eyes

Where's my Barbie hoverboard?

R.I.M.A. (Barima), Thursday, 26 August 2004 18:54 (twenty-one years ago)

it'd keep the bugs out of my eyes

Oh, I know! There was some kind of bug population explosion yesterday morning. I was pelted for miles.

Harold Media (kenan), Thursday, 26 August 2004 18:57 (twenty-one years ago)

they're *so* annoying . . . and i always get them in my eyes right before traffic gets crazier, so i bike in fear. although, today i got doored for the first time. that was kind of exciting. & no bugs were involved in that at all.

I saw footage of the locust plague in Africa the other night, it was terrifying. I'm not sure the MegaVisor would offer much help.

Forget about Beethoven, Rembrandt and rock and roll
Forget about Mickey Mouse, Marlboro and Coca Cola
Forget about Cadillac, Mercedes and Toyota
Forget about Buddha, Allah, Jesus and Jehovah
Hurry down Doomsday the bugs are taking over

Anyday now a giant insect mutation
Will swoop down and devour the white man's burden
Starting out with all of the sensitive ones
Better make like a fly if you don't want to die
Look out there goes Gordon

Harold Media (kenan), Thursday, 26 August 2004 19:24 (twenty-one years ago)

i saw one of these yesterday for the 1st time.
i thought we were being invaded.

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 26 August 2004 19:48 (twenty-one years ago)
