you are right about what you said tho, about the interests of the party outweighing the interests of the nation. i think what you said should be taken a step further - think how little the good of the world comes into play in american politics. with the global scope that u.s. policies can have, you'd think the issues that effect places outside your boarders would pop-up a little more.
i'm not surprised by this but i wish it wasn't that way.

Barry the main problem i and many other people have w/Bush as President - aside from deep differences in philosophy about the role of government - is that he hasn't governed from the center, he hasn't built consensus on anything, which is what any president who had won by such a hair's breadth would be expected to do.. his stock response to that criticism of course is that "9/11 changed everything"
