Production began this week on one of next summer's behemoths: Twentieth Century Fox's "Fantastic Four." The move [sic] stars Chris Evans as the Human Torch, Jessica Alba as Invisible Girl, Ioan Gruffudd as Mr. Fantastic, Michael Chiklis as the Thing and Julian McMahon as Dr. Doom.

I misread that as "Chris Elliot as the Human Torch" and nearly crapped my pants.

"You don't think I can do flaming?"

As I've probably said before, I sort of wish it were the British Chris Evans rather than someone I don't know at all, as many here would be very happy to see him go up in flames.

I hope it does well enough for a sequal, then we can have GALACTUS.

Wooden (Wooden), Monday, 30 August 2004 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

But knowing Hollywood, they'll probably make it the Mole Man.

Wooden (Wooden), Monday, 30 August 2004 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Jessica Alba's not really going to be invisible in this, is she? That would be LAME.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 30 August 2004 12:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I hear it's just her pants that are invisible!

Huck, Monday, 30 August 2004 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Huck, www.prepubescentboyswiththickglassesandzits.com isn't the most reliable source for movie news.

But the Thing looks like Don Rickles crossed with Mt. Rushmore; he has a body that feels like a driveway and a face with crevices you could hide a toothbrush in. Alicia tenderly feels his face with her fingers, like blind people often do while falling in love in the movies, and I guess she likes what she feels. Maybe she's extrapolating.
