I think the curved fronted, slide-opening metal ones are best.

Should not be air tight but airflow inside should not be too great.

Bread bins with lift-off lids are rubbish.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 10 September 2004 11:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I do like that one though!!

i'd like this thread to develop into a huge argument.

I don't like kitchen containers with the names of the contents printed on them. Labels on spice jars, sugar etc, maybe, but big things saying 'BREAD' 'TEA' 'COFFEE' are annoyingly twee.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 10 September 2004 11:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Ah, that's probably why I like that one!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Friday, 10 September 2004 11:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe I should release a line of kitchen containers that say "8r34D" "734" "K0ff33" and "2uG4r", would that take off, you think?

Almost certainly.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 10 September 2004 11:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I keep my bread in a paper bag in one of my cupboards and it's fine. I'm not keen on too much clutter on my work surfaces.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 10 September 2004 11:36 (twenty-one years ago)

or "5ug4r" even.

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 10 September 2004 11:36 (twenty-one years ago)

we have a wooden breadbin. the door is broken, although door does not seem the right word.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 10 September 2004 11:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Make sure you test the door out before you buy. This is urgent and key. Get a squeaky one and you'll spend the rest of your days fixing it. It'll drive you over the edge, man!
