I want to shop online for groceries...

So I'd appreciate any comments on the services offered in the UK. I'd be really keen to shop with someone who was just an online grocery retailer, rather than any of the big chains, but I don't know if such a thing exists.

i use tesco.com pretty regularly, and i've been happy with it. they have decent delivery slots, turn up on time, and stuff is reasonably priced. haven't seen any independents other than farmers markets type things, and since i basically only order bulk items of heavy things (like cases of wine and stuff) that i don't want to lug home from the grocery store, produce usually isn't what i'm ordering.

Ocado has a good rep but their coverage is not huge and a little on the pricy side as they partner with Waitrose. Organic Box schemes are good for veg if you have one in your area. Posh shops like Vilandry will deliver in a imited area for orders over £50.

as far as I know there isn't a purely online option for all groceries. There are lots of organic fruit and veg options, but they tend to be on the pricier side.

I've used tesco, sainsburys and waitrose (ocado) and all three were fine. Actually I had big problems with Tesco, but once I complained they were very good about it, and it was such a mess that they refunded me on the whole shop, when only about 15% of the order was messed up.

Ah yes, I had forgotten about the existence of organic box schemes. That may be a very good option.
