This is the thread where we tell each other Martin Buber style mystical tales of the fictitious Reb Schmeerson. They must have a hidden moral meaning.

ahem.


It is said:

One day the reb was out walking with his students when he complained of a stone in his shoe. He sat on the sidewalk and removed his shoe. But then, with the shoe and the stone in his hand, he paused and reflected a long time. 'I might take this stone out of my shoe', he told himself. 'Then, I would have no pain or concern, yet it might be the worse for me as I may forget myself in my happiness. And what then? For is not the Covenant as a stone in the shoes of the children of Israel, that they may be mindful?'. And so, he added another stone to the first, and put his shoe back on, and led the way back into the street.
