ANdy Kershaw just did the world press review from bagdad on the today programme on radio 4 this morning, one of those sureal little moments. Why was an esteemed world music dj reviewing iraqi papers over a crackly phone line? Is this the only work he can get?

I would think his knowledge of Iraqi life, politics and culture is way ahead of most of the political commentators who appear on Today. I'd rather listen to a gifted amateur than a jaded professional.

btw I think he's on radio 3 now.
