It's too late! My mom called me last night to tell me that she voted....for Nader!! At least she is in a blue state.

ah. Well maybe her vote won't get counted then? Hard to say. I sorta think that it's been a mistake for people to be encouraged to use absentee ballots, despite all of Florida's problems in 2000. Esp. when it's still not even mid-October.

I asked about Oregon 'cause they have some weird system where everyone mails in their ballots, no polling places. I think he'll go Kerry, but I had to try to convince my brother the doctor earlier in the summer that John Edwards is okay despite being a trial lawyer. Sheesh.

Oregon doesn't send out the ballots til the 15th, i think.

My mom is disabled, which is why she votes absentee. I think she usually abstains from voting for president altogether (she's voted for "Mickey Mouse" and "Donald Duck" in the past), but she was afraid if she didn't punch something, they'd throw it out.
