these were taken with a canon powershot a75. from a moving vehicle, in many cases.

that pointy house is amazing!
(chemicals made from dirt?)

DJ Salinger (joni), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 09:20 (twenty-one years ago)

i like the photos. oddly enough, they remind me most of those half-page record ads that you see in Magnet, etc. all you need is some bold sans-serif text in there and you're good to go.

kingfish (Kingfish), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 09:31 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah i know. i was trying really hard not to make these look like radar bros. album covers. :-)

(chemicals made from dirt is correct!)

I particularly like 0221_colorado.jpg. Pointy house also v cool

beanz (beanz), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 15:03 (twenty-one years ago)

i can't tell what the pointy house is. it looks like a cult.

Did you have a good time, apart from the having to come back suddenly bit?

beanz (beanz), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 15:08 (twenty-one years ago)

hell yeah!

I liked this one the best:

It's kind of mysterious, it makes me wonder where does that little cut-off road go to.

The cloudscape picture 2 pics up from it is very good as well. They're all good, really, but those are the 2 that stuck out.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 15:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah that's the one I meant too. Great composition with the poles framing the parallel bits of track etc
/ponce

hockey family (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 20:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Those vasectomy reversal guys get around -- there's an identical billboard on I-75 just south of Detroit.

Jeff Wright (JeffW1858), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 20:48 (twenty-one years ago)

that's not bad! is that meals and etc? i'm not really sure how long distance train trips work.

John (jdahlem), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 20:50 (twenty-one years ago)

meals are extra. there's a dining car and a lounge with a snack bar. i brought some snacks from home and got a real meal (italian beef!!) when we stopped in chicago.

hockey family (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 20:53 (twenty-one years ago)
