An extremely thrifty Maori woman.

A miracle of life?

Jimmy Mod always makes friends with women before bedding them down (ModJ), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 00:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Ugh, Ally, I am not drunk enough to look at that! So not safe for work! Ugh ugh! Mine eyes! get the soap for my BRANE!!!~

The Grain of Sand in Lambeth That Satan Cannot Find (kate), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 00:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Both dog and baby share the same name - Honey
The mentality of a person who would give the same name to a dog and a baby does help to explain things somewhat.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 00:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yeah I guess I should've put NSFW.

But seriously GROSS

Allyzay Science Explosion (allyzay), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 00:19 (twenty-one years ago)

The La Leche League, a support organisation for breastfeeding mothers, felt the issue of feeding a dog was "beyond the league's area of expertise".

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 00:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Think of it as payback for Romulus and Remus.

Michael White (Hereward), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 00:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I noticed that too

Also it strikes me her baby is still very little, shouldn't it still be breastfeeding maybe? What if it gets the same nipple as the dog?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!!?!? Did she wean the baby to breastfeed the dog?!?!?!

I am so disturbed by all of this, I shouldn't have sent my mom the picture of Tori Amos suckling the pig because this is what I got in return.

Allyzay Science Explosion (allyzay), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 00:21 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah the same name thing is nearly as creepy as the suckling thing

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 00:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Oedipus Rex!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 00:28 (twenty-one years ago)

There was an incredibly beautiful photo in the Utne Reader a few years of a young Andean woman breastfeeding a baby goat. I wish I'd clipped that page before I tossed that stack of magazines.

I Am Curious (George) (Rock Hardy), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 01:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Allyzay Science Explosion (allyzay), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 03:00 (twenty-one years ago)

"abreast of things."

g--ff (gcannon), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 03:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Should I feel disturbed that I do not find this disturbing?

My reaction, "this is news? who cares.."

Miss Misery (thatgirl), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 03:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Thank god, I was getting disappointed in this thread that no one took up the side of the lady with the dog tit. I mean people have defended soft-core child porn on this site! OJ Simpson! Rape porn! George W. Bush!! Chris Kattan for god's sake. I was worried that of all things breast feeding a dog, while very disagreeable, was actually the one thing beyond the pale for ILX!!!

Allyzay Science Explosion (allyzay), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 03:53 (twenty-one years ago)

but it's so nothing!! who the fuck cares? maybe it turns your stomach but it's not like it's really doing anyone any harm. it's just 'meh'

dog tit. .haha

Miss Misery (thatgirl), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 03:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Supposedly, way back in the day in Europe, poor women were hired to breastfeed lapdog puppies. God, there's something to have on your resume...

Layna Andersen (Layna Andersen), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 03:59 (twenty-one years ago)

That pull quote is genius:

'I didn't want to waste it, so I gave it to Honey Boy'

o. nate (onate), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 04:06 (twenty-one years ago)

How is she possibly pregnant again if she's breastfeeding? Something is missing from this story...

mouse (mouse), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 05:17 (twenty-one years ago)

it is my understanding that breastfeeding only reduces fertility, it doesn't cancel it out altogether

Oh yeah btw Kate from Kate's Playground lives somewhere in New West I think, when I saw this pic of her by her window I could see my homie Jeff's apartment complex and the BC Transit bus loop out of it! Mad!

LeCoq (LeCoq), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 05:29 (twenty-one years ago)

What if that puppy becomes some sort of evil man/dog chimera!!!???

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 05:36 (twenty-one years ago)

excuse me while i send a resume off to the afp, nz bureau.

g--ff (gcannon), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 05:40 (twenty-one years ago)

if that puppy becomes some sort of evil man/dog chimera

i guess then the name honey would seem even more inappropriate?

gem (trisk), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 05:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Wasn't this the climax of "The Grapes of Wrath"? Or was that an old man getting the tit?

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 06:17 (twenty-one years ago)

What about "the concerns the dog could develop long-term behavioural issues"? TF?

Laura H. (laurah), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 06:30 (twenty-one years ago)

like biting women in the boobs?

Remy Snush (x Jeremy), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 06:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Speaking from experience -- that's hardly an issue... and I'm loathe, even, to admit it's a compulsion.

Remy Snush (x Jeremy), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 06:33 (twenty-one years ago)

My mom was in the La Leche League.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 06:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Well uhh.. you know.

it's homosapienized

gypsy mothra (gypsy mothra), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 06:47 (twenty-one years ago)

The notion of the foreign critter at a nipple bothers me more than anything else. I get weirded out thinking about, f'rinstance, the Danish sucking milk straight from a cow's udder.

Remy Snush (x Jeremy), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 06:49 (twenty-one years ago)

OMG WHAT IS THE ROCK DOING TO THAT POOR LIL DOGGER

I'm serious ... Ti-i-i-i-im (deangulberry), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 06:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I get weirded out thinking about, f'rinstance, the Danish sucking milk straight from a cow's udder.

Er, where did you hear the Danish would do that?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 06:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I dunno, I was being facetious; it sounds like something from a Hans Christian Anderson story. The image of somebody Danish sucking milk from a cow's udder strikes me as weirder than - say - a Mexican. Apologies.

Remy Snush (x Jeremy), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 07:01 (twenty-one years ago)

ewww the milk would be all warm, how revolting

Onimo (GerryNemo), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 13:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Count me in with the so-what? crowd.

I saw a man sucking a lactating dog`s nipples, and he got milk out of them. He spoke tenderly and coaxingly to the wee dog as he rolled the dog`s nipples around with his fingers before sucking on them. Then he opened his mouth and showed the little bit of dog milk he extracted. That part kind of grossed me out, but overall it was more amusing than disgusting. This was on Japanese commercial tv two years ago -- which may explain things...or not.

Melinda Mess-injure, Tuesday, 30 November 2004 13:58 (twenty-one years ago)

dare i ask what was the product that was being advertised?

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 13:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I have to say, I've been thinking about this a bit since it was posted, and personally I don't have a problem with it. It's a little odd sure, but it's all about intention. There's nothing sexual about her feeding of the dog, it's maternal if anything. How can that be wrong?

It's when you start smearing peanut butter on your.....umm..nevermind
