doc holiday had tuberculosis and that's why he killed ppl n shit - i learned that not from some shitty western film but a 1950s book on gunslingers i used to own. it was fantastic. on the left, an essay about the REAL TRUE life of the gunslinger, and on the right, a full-color portrait.

one of the other things i know from it that you probably don't is that, if you've seen mask of zorro, antonio banderras's zorro's brother (dude w/ head in jar that he drinks out of) ACTUALLY EXISTED and - what's more - ACTUALLY DID GET HIS HEAD PUT IN A JAR. but it was in a museum in SF and fell into the cracks of the earth during the san fran earthquake of '08 or whenever it was, never to resurface.

also, the greatest gunslinger of all time (by death-count) was john wesley hardin who killed around 50 ppl including his first man at 14.

i always felt sorry for john wesley hardin because he killed so many fucking people but no one's even heard of him today. wtf, no justice.

btk's essay was actually kinda boring, all i remember is that he was a shy gentlemanly fellow until he got some alcohol in him, then he started shooting ppl. but that basically the case w/ every gunfighter according to this book.
