Bush mandates that only three states exist on the east coast of the US.. just like the west coast.. You are the one to choose the three Atlantic ocean bordering states. which ones will they be?

donut christ (donut), Thursday, 20 January 2005 06:36 (twenty-one years ago)

(Gulf Of Mexico doesn't count.. sorry Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas)

donut christ (donut), Thursday, 20 January 2005 06:37 (twenty-one years ago)

goddamn you.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 20 January 2005 06:39 (twenty-one years ago)

i don't care, as long as they're not red states.

cathy berberian (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 20 January 2005 06:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Nevada.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 20 January 2005 06:41 (twenty-one years ago)

OK, never mind. All states are open. Even territories like Puerto Rico and Guam. I want to see how you'd twist the shape of the state and bring the geography with it.

donut christ (donut), Thursday, 20 January 2005 06:43 (twenty-one years ago)

(mainly for stence's "nevada" answer, which is brilliant)

donut christ (donut), Thursday, 20 January 2005 06:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Guangdong Province.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 20 January 2005 06:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Hawaii
Alaska
New Mexico

donut christ (donut), Thursday, 20 January 2005 06:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I like the shape of New Mexico, it's like Alabama times ten.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 20 January 2005 06:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Hawaii would take over Florida. Alaska would take over New England (without having most of the Alaskans take over the population that is..), and New Mexico would line the middle coast with beautiful canyons and sopapilla factories.

donut christ (donut), Thursday, 20 January 2005 06:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm offended that Texas is poking its western tentacle underneath New Mexico.. like New Mexico should slap Texas in the face and say "Masher!".

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 20 January 2005 06:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I've crossed a diagonal across Texas, but El Paso and the Mountain time part of Texas is at the opposite side of that diagonal, so no. I was just commenting on the geography and borders.

I do want to visit La Ciudad Juarez (Mexican city right across El Rio from El Paso) just looking at the photos.. then again, a friend of mine in Austin told me that the city has an out-of-control murder rate, especially for women. *shudder* but that's all I was told.

donut christ (donut), Thursday, 20 January 2005 06:58 (twenty-one years ago)

(but at least La Cuidad Juarez *looks* far more exciting than Tijuana.. not counting the murder part)

Deleware stretches up to meet Maine, and Rhode Island fills out the rest of the coast down to Mexico. It's their turn. They're due.

dave225 (Dave225), Thursday, 20 January 2005 15:59 (twenty-one years ago)

How about:

1. The Commonwealth of New England (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island). Capitol: Boston.

2. The State of Midatlantia (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia). Capitol: Philadelphia (just to piss off New Yorkers).

3. The State of Y'all (North and South Carolina, Georgia, Florida). Capitol: Charleston.

The Mad Puffin (The Mad Puffin), Thursday, 20 January 2005 16:02 (twenty-one years ago)

The State of Food (capital: Taverna Kyklades in Queens and/or Jess's favored cheesesteak locale in Philadelphia)

The State of Snow (capital: Stowe)

The State of Okra (capital: whereever Trife wants to proclaim his dictatorship)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 20 January 2005 16:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I suppose that last one should be the State of Kudzu, more accurately.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 20 January 2005 16:07 (twenty-one years ago)

OMG if buildings in the South were covered in okra and I were President, I would firebomb the entire region. KILL THE EVIL DISGUSTING WEED.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 20 January 2005 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

mmmmmmmmmmm fried okra.

Jeff-PTTL (Jeff), Thursday, 20 January 2005 16:37 (twenty-one years ago)

The best part of New Mexico's shape is the Gadsden Purchase.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 20 January 2005 16:43 (twenty-one years ago)

gadsen purchase is arizona.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 21 January 2005 01:13 (twenty-one years ago)

as well, i mean.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 21 January 2005 01:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Since we already stole Texas from Mexico, which Canadian province should we take so that we can have a more symmetrical looking map?

polyphonic (polyphonic), Friday, 21 January 2005 01:28 (twenty-one years ago)

We'd have to take all of them.

If we took all of the populated ones, there'd still be a smilar symmetry due to the hudson bay.
