roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 20 January 2005 16:31 (twenty-one years ago)

The heaviest baby ever born was 29lbs or something. Think about that.

marianna lcl (marianna lcl), Thursday, 20 January 2005 22:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't imagine giving birth to a one-pound log, let alone a six-pound baby, let alone...

polyphonic (polyphonic), Thursday, 20 January 2005 22:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Can you clap? See I told you.

Michael White (Hereward), Thursday, 20 January 2005 22:45 (twenty-one years ago)

How fat were we all when born?

I was 10 pound 11 oz. Pretty darn big.

Mil (Mil), Thursday, 20 January 2005 23:07 (twenty-one years ago)

cutty (mcutt), Thursday, 20 January 2005 23:16 (twenty-one years ago)

cutty (mcutt), Thursday, 20 January 2005 23:30 (twenty-one years ago)

The day my daughter was born there was some other father at the nursery window showing off his 15 lb. heifer. He was tickled to death, and I was like, "Dude, go be with your wife, she must be miserable," and he was like, "She don't want me anywhere near her right now," all grinnin' and shit.

Curious George Rides a Republican (Rock Hardy), Thursday, 20 January 2005 23:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 20 January 2005 23:43 (twenty-one years ago)

MICHAEL WHITE YOU ARE A KING AMONG MEN

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 21 January 2005 00:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I should have known that the someone who would remember that punchline would be you, Dan.

Michael White (Hereward), Friday, 21 January 2005 00:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Our baby was 9 lbs. when she came out of the womb. And we thought THAT was huge!

mike a, Friday, 21 January 2005 01:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Did the mother have gestational diabetes? That can lead to extra big babies.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Friday, 21 January 2005 01:34 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah she did. why is that tokyo rosemary? a couple of people have told me that. more blood sugar in the mum's system?

gem (trisk), Friday, 21 January 2005 01:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm not sure why, I just know that it happens. It happened with Dolly Sinatra and her baby Frank.

(Then again I was only 6 or 7 pounds and my mom had gestational diabetes.)

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Friday, 21 January 2005 01:58 (twenty-one years ago)

My husband was apparently 15lbs when he was born. I told him he should bow down at his mothers feet and apologise.

papa november (papa november), Friday, 21 January 2005 01:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Emilymv (Emilymv), Friday, 21 January 2005 02:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Samantha Baker (Dee the Lurker), Friday, 21 January 2005 03:27 (twenty-one years ago)

(i.e., people thought I didn't want to give birth to children BEFORE....)

Samantha Baker (Dee the Lurker), Friday, 21 January 2005 03:27 (twenty-one years ago)

oh man I heard something about this in an elevator but I didn't want to eavesdrop, I thought maybe it was like the sister of one of the people I was sharing an elevator with. Thanks for the info, the internet solves all mysteries.

teeny (teeny), Friday, 21 January 2005 04:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Many thanks to my b/f Richard who sent me this link. I'm expecting his baby in May so am now feeling full of confidence. Hmmmmm, wonder how he'd feel if he had to shit a genetically modified coconut?

just had a scan of my ovaries. they pumped contrast fluid in my uterus. my mother had warned me it'd hurt like hell. uh, that was an understatement. i wanted to strangle the doctor but was in too much pain.

stevie nixed (stevie nixed), Friday, 21 January 2005 13:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Funnily, my pregnant GLW send *me* this. It reminds me of that episode of The Goodies where Tim Brooke-Taylor gives birth to Bill Oddie.
