Has anyone owned or run one for any length of time? Is it worth buying one? Any problems? blah blah yadda yadda? A local used car place has one that looks pretty solid.

I mean they look pretty cute in a kind of '80's futurist design way, plus it wd be handy for the band, w/that tailgate & stuff, but I don't want to wind up paying out shitloads of money all the time like i did w/the second saab or with the fiesta.

I like how many headlights it has!

I'm not familiar with that model, but Volvos are particularly reliable cars, in my experience.

A friend had one. They are great really good fun. The downside the parts are expensive, even more so than regular volvos and they have one of the first on-board computers in a car. If they get water inside the computer they do weird stuff, lights not coming on, or coming on and not popping up or only one working, speedo or fuel gauge not displaying properly. If the Brain goes they are really really expensive to replace.

Great fun though, a true car of the late 80s early 90s.

I recon that a civic of a similar vintage is a better bet. Particularly a late 80s early 90s CRX nailed the easthetic the volvo just alluded to

The volvo is so much better than a civic of that period in so many respects.
