Live in Miami??

I may have to move to Miami...instead of London, UK. Was happy about London...not so happy about Miami! I've lived in Montreal (Plateau), NYC (Alphabet City) and LA (Venice, Echo Park), so far was reasonably happy in each town.

Can anyone advise? I've never been to Miami. Thanks

I like Miami. I dig the bilingual culture, the architecture, the color of the water, the foliage and the fact that my best friend lives there.

Everything is pastel (in a good way). Lots of beautiful people. Fun.

Where to live...my job will for the first time allow me some flexibility. It seems obvious that one should live by the beach, I guess. Is Coconut Grove just a shadow of its former self and horribly expensive?

If there's anywhere one could live where it's possible to stroll out your door and buy good coffee, good records and still be near the beach, that would be quite fine.

I was just reading in the NYTimes about an area called SoFi. Sounded cool.

Ellena, my friend says anywhere in South Beach would suit you. She used to live at 15th and Meridian.
