On the Waterfront - decent film. I like it well enough, and so much of it has been absorbed into the vernacular that it's not funny. However, I feel oftentimes like the film totally depends on Brando so much that his weaker scenes poke holes right into the film itself. Malden, as always is stunning while prim and proper. I'm not as hot on the Cobb role. Overall it works, though. And I love the beginning.

"I coulda been a contender" isn't even close to Brando's best scene. The ones with Eva Marie Saint, especially the walk when he puts on her glove and says "You turned out very nice," are great.
