What is this quote from?

HINT: the "mmm mm" was a confused sort of mumbling sound, NOT the sort of sound effect you make when something tastes good.

Okay, seeing as it is a tripod image and very difficult to find on the web, I will give another quote instead of a visual clue:

QUOTE #2:

"A distinct case of overeating, doctor."

So is it Chow Hound, or is that barking up the wrong tree?

dave225 (Dave225), Wednesday, 26 January 2005 19:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Dave225 wins!

The next quote would have been:

"Next time don't forget the gravy!"
followed by
"Acres and acres of meat! And they're mine... all mine!"

Chow Hound (1951) directed by Charles M. Jones was a real classic - the story of a muscular dog who exploits a cat and mouse, concluding with a vicious turn of the tables: the dog is planted belly-up on a countertop and force-fed gallons of gravy ("...And don't forget the gravy!") through a garden hose. Well, consider those childhood memories stricken from the record. These days it falls under the category of imitatable behavior, i.e. too masochistic for children and families with pets.

This cartoon is banned now, by the way!

I cheated, by the way.

dave225 (Dave225), Wednesday, 26 January 2005 19:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I figured, source-looker or googler, whichever the case may be.

Quizmaster, Wednesday, 26 January 2005 19:51 (twenty-one years ago)

the former.

dave225 (Dave225), Wednesday, 26 January 2005 19:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Where is it banned from? Who banned it?

Pangolino again, Wednesday, 26 January 2005 20:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I guess it's just banned nationwide, but I'm not sure if it was some FCC type regulation or just a self-imposed PR thing when they went back and made decisions on all those old cartoons. It was deemed too violent, unlike the rest, which were mostly racist.
