How wonderful to know that I am at last being honored properly.

The City of Nedlands is approximately 6.4km from Perth, and includes the suburbs of Nedlands, Dalkeith, Hollywood, Mt Claremont, Swanbourne, parts of Shenton Park and Floreat. In all the City encompasses some 20.6 sq. km. Within this area, the Council is responsible for the maintenance of 137.03 km of roads and more than 380ha of parks and gardens. 21,000 residents live in the City of Nedlands.

In recent news, street trees are a point of concern:

The Comprehensive Street Tree Strategy has been developed to achieve a more coordinated, rational and planned approach towards the management of the City of Nedlands' street trees. The long-term aims of Council are to improve the appearance of the entire municipality. The draft Strategy has initially addressed three sectors of the City, including Swanbourne, Nedlands and Dalkeith.

The Strategy outlines design principles for planting, site and species selection, the preservation and management of significant trees, and guidelines for tree establishment and management. The Strategy has been based on currently accepted 'best practice', the Strategy will be updated by Council as knowledge of tree management issues is expanded and improved.

my uni is in nedlands ned. hadn't heard about the street tree crisis though. and it's where lots of the rich posh people live.

i lived there (in dalkeith to be precise) for a while in an incredibly skanky sharehouse when i first left school. all the rich posh neighbours used to complain about us on a weekly basis. so we would park our clapped out old bombs on their manicured lawns out of spite. those were the days. i was pretty glad to move away from there. although it is a very nice place to go to uni.

i don't think i've been into dalkeith in probably ten years, it's funny how you can live in such a small city as perth and still some areas remain completely foreign to you.

fremantle is good during the day, but turns into a cesspit at night.

actually freo is where i moved to from dalkeith, i lived there for about 7 or 8 years. i loved it but i also loved moving away from it when i finally did. i used to work in a pub there where people were known to unzip 'right there'. then i kicked them out.
