The Thread Where We Ponder What The Fuck Is Up With the Minnesota Vikings This Year!

okay...honestly...I was in France for the first game....then got home just in time to see our total meltdown against the Bengals....jesus...we haven't played that bad since that Giants game in the playoffs a few years ago...or the Les Steckel era...

So, yeah, okay Matt Birk is out, but does that mean our whole O-line should just disintigrate? They act like he's some kind of mastermind of the position or something...

Duante, I'm a huge fan, and at least he looked somewhat like himself this past Sunday against the Saints, but man, I dunno, I've never seen him look so bad as against the Bengals..

...Looks like Bennett is trade bait to the Cardinals, and Mewelde Moore has got the running back slot sewn up...good deal....like Moore, he's scrappy and tough to tackle, always gets positive yards even if he gets stuffed at the line, fuck Bennett's "athleticism"....

So, now everyone's back to positivity cuz we beat a team that basically sucks AND has to play every game on the road and had a short week cuz they played monday in NYC and has no home and has to live in San Antonio, so I'm almost embarrassed that we let them get as close as 8 points down in the second half....

Tice is such an idiot....after second game he said "Well, we're going to have to figure out how to get used to not having Randy"...it's like DIDN'T YOU THINK THIS WOULD BE AN ISSUE IN THE OFFSEASON....jeez...they finally moved the O-coordinator Loney (if you can call him that) up to the booth and ran the plays through Tice, which seemed to work (No delay of game penalties for once YAY PROFESSIONALISM), but it's like, we're an NFL team and yr just figuring out how to CALL THE FUCKING PLAYS the THIRD GAME into the season.

Fuck. I don't even know why I'm surprised. Being a Vikes fan=dysfunctional relationship city.

No shit...Red was cheap on more than that too, the assistants, (reportedly) the scouting staff, etc etc...I hope the new owner cleans house after this season...he's got a stadium deal going through, and the fans are going to be getting out the pitchforks and torches if they don't make the playoffs, he'll have to make a show of bringing in a new regime if he want the state legislature to go through w/ the deal...

Burleson's hurt too.....

...Troy Williamson, who I wasn't too keen on as a draft pick esp. that high in the draft, is starting to show some signs of that touted speed....man that kid is frickin' fast....

haha kordell - what the hell were the bears thinking?

j blount (papa la bas), Tuesday, 27 September 2005 21:03 (twenty years ago)

The thing is everyone blames the Bears QB, but other than Neal Anderson for a A couple of seasons around the time when Payton retired and Covert, Hilgenburg and the remainder of Da Bears line was there, when have the Bears had even a running game? I just don't see how a team can suck on offense that many years straight in the wide open game of today. They haven't had a QB throw for 300 yards in over five years!

I can never figure the Vikings. When they are really, really good, something screwy happens in the playoffs. Sometimes when they are supposed to be really good, they turn into the worse team in football. Viking fans must be a really frustrated lot. How does Gary Anderson kick a blue million field goals in 20+ years in the league, as consistant as you can get and yet somehow blow the only kick that mattered to take his team to the Superbowl? He had to be on the take or something. At least the 49ers are no longer along to beat them in the playoffs. Tice was feeling so underpaid, he got busted scalping tickets last year.
