Why do I keep on getting goosed at Stick Cricket?

I am consistently bad at Stick Cricket. Against pace bowlers, I can hit a boundary just about every ball. However, the second a slower-arm bowler comes in, I stop scoring and lose wickets rapidly. Where am I going wrong? How can I smack Warne for 6? How can I not lose my wicket to Giles? Somebody help!

It is indeed much tougher to slog sixes against the slower bowlers but still do-able. For the most part it's just a case of being really patient and not hitting until the ball is practically on top of you. Not sure about Gilo but most of Warne's ball pitch way outside leg stump and break inwards to hit them left, if he pitches closer to off stump it shouldn't be too difficult to hit him to the right.

Hope that helps. I have spent faaaaaaaaaaaaaar too much time on that game this summer.

The medium pacers are easier to start with (in fact, I can hit a 24-30 run over quite easily off the medium pacers, but not so often the fast outswing). The key, like uptoeleven says, is timing. play 'em real late. also, when facing the spinners, you get a pretty good idea of how it's going to turn as soon as you see the flight of the ball. the easiest to hit sixes from tend to be the leg breaks outside off stump, which can easily be hit over point. The hardest, for me anyway, are those that tend to pitch round leg stump.

also, try to compensate for your weakness with the slower bowlers by taking the quick ones to task. never let em away with a dot ball. Once you get whittle the req. run rate down below about 20-22, it's easy to hit 3s every ball (and the odd boundary) off the spinners. The key is some big (high 20) overs off the quicks.

(I look at the words and I know they're English, but...)

World Domination level one, All Stars vs India.

Here's how it stands: All Stars 242-0 (10 overs) Border 163* Gavaskar 79*.

I've faced an over from the Turbanator and one from Ganguly, who I found much easier to play. I may leave the PC on overnight to face Kumble and friends once I'm sober. Updates to follow.
