Retouching software

Just watching one of those CELEB MAKEUP DISASTER shows and they had a clip of someone retouching a photo of a model on a computer, making her arm slimmer, removing moles, etc. What's the best program for doing this?

Yes yes, but is that the industry standard? The program they were using on this show certainly wasn't that.

It's the industry standard for printed media anyway.

Photoshop is the industry standard. For a while there were some more advanced systems, Paint Box, or software that ran on Silicon Graphics or Scitex type systems that were only used by super high-end output houses, but as Macs/PCs have gotten more powerful, I don't know how common those are anymore.
