I was watching one of the (800,000+) True Crime Investigation shows on cable, and this one was about a cute girl in her mid-20s who was killed by some creep she decided to go home with from a casino late at night. Her family attributed her obvious desperation and vulnerabiliy to a recent bout with depression and anxiety, but her mom tearfully held up for the camera a bunch of Lucinda Bassett books and CDs as proof that her daughter didn't just give in to despair, she CHOSE TO FIGHT... it was sad.

On a scale of increasing severity & creepiness:

Lucinda Bassett, anti-anxiety televangelist

Lucinda Bassett doesn't bother me. What DOES bother me is that Wendi Friesen claims that one of her hypno tapes can give you "a full night's sleep in just five minutes" and swears that cross-country truckers swear by her program. FFS, as if I didn't have any other reason to be wary of truckers -- NOW they're sleep-starved and mesmerized.

elmo's post has me ready to pay Wendi Friesen whatever she wants, I'm sick to fucking death of Lunesta

is the lunesta aftertaste as foul as they're saying?

there's a column in the new businessweek that says:

"in internet chat rooms, patients gripe about a bitter aftertaste that goes way beyond the 'unpleasant' effect mentioned on the label. 'lunesta tastes like a herd of wild animals nested in my mouth,' reads one post. nancy munroe of florida, who has taken lunesta since its launch last year, says: 'i've never tastes urine, but i could imagine it would taste something like that.'"
