weird itunes/ipod problem???

okay:

so, I transferred all this stuff off my old iPod (from when I didn't have a computer--everything was put on there on lots of different machines all over the place) to my computer (using iPodRip) and onto my new iPod but NOW all the tracks appear to be on there, but some of them just won't play... they load up, then just skip to the next one, or back to the main menu.

has anyone had anything like this happen to them? any ideas?

Yeeeeeah, actually. I had one ipod mess up just like that 4 months ago or something. I tried to get it to work with no results. I haven't taken it to get serviced yet because I am conveniently using the other one, but I think it's fried, man. I would send it back. Thanks for reminding me.

All the new stuff I put on there works... I suspect the old MP3s have just been corrupted somehow....

Maybe the tags somehow got screwed up, I have had that happen. I just stripped the tags and redid them and they have been fine ever since.

It is totally lame. I had like sooo many mp3s on that fookin' ipod, then I chucked the old computron, assured that I would no longer need any of that stuff.. This reminds me of sad times..

UPDATE: now my Most Recently Added playlist won't work. It only seems to list really old stuff? Same w/ Top 25 Most Played.... anyone have any ideas?

I electrcuted my iPod and now it won't work. I can get another one, but hell, if the thing's just going to break in two years, I may as well just get a nano. It's not like I ever listened to 5000 songs at once.
