Carbonated fruit juice with no added sugar (though they do step up the sweet with apple/grape juice in almost all flavors). I've only had Tropical Punch, which tastes pretty good and would probably be enough to satisfy any soda cravings that still might lurk in me (though I'd really like to swear off all carbonated beverages, period).

There's a soda brand just like this widely available in NYC called Izze that 'tis the bomb. But the sugar from fruit juice is still, you know, sugar -- really, better to have whole fruit when you've got a sugar fix.

A very, very convincing diet soda analog to IZZE's citrus offerings is No-Cal's Clementine soda, which might be the best diet soda I've ever tasted: tart, tangy, bright and crisp.

no-cal has been around forever. i remember it from when i was a kid and my supermarket would stock it in the "diabetic old lady" aisle. i haven't seen it recently, but i'll keep my eyes peeled.
