Lindsay Lohan As Joss Whedon's Wonder Woman???

Herbie: Fully Loaded star Lindsay Lohan is desperate to play Wonder Woman in the forthcoming movie version of the comic book superhero. The 19-year-old Freaky Friday actress admits she'd like to showcase her talents outside of kid and teen films, but feels the role would be too fun to turn down. She says, "Wonder Woman would be cool. I'm trying to find roles right now that are different to anything I've done to show my abilities, to show that I have some sort of stretch in me. Because most of the things that I've done so far are aimed at younger girls and are light-hearted."

Selma Hayek, bitch.

senseiDancer (sexyDancer), Thursday, 23 March 2006 21:52 (twenty years ago)

Gina Torres!

senseiDancer (sexyDancer), Thursday, 23 March 2006 22:15 (twenty years ago)

My friend M who looks like Wonder Woman but better!

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 23 March 2006 22:40 (twenty years ago)

I know she's not famous enough, but Buffy's Charisma Carpenter totally has the look. I like Lindsay Lohan, but no.

horsehoe (horseshoe), Thursday, 23 March 2006 23:01 (twenty years ago)

For a while they were throwing around the idea of Shannon Elizabeth. I guess her time has passed.

Zwan (miccio), Thursday, 23 March 2006 23:04 (twenty years ago)

fake tit bimbo, bro

senseiDancer (sexyDancer), Thursday, 23 March 2006 23:05 (twenty years ago)

One assumes that for all his foibles Joss Whedon has a lot more fucking sense than that.

phil d. (Phil D.), Thursday, 23 March 2006 23:24 (twenty years ago)

For a while they were throwing around the idea of Shannon Elizabeth. I guess her time has passed.

Or they realized they couldn't film a $100 million softcore porn version of Wonder Woman.

Cunga (Cunga), Thursday, 23 March 2006 23:30 (twenty years ago)

"she'd like to showcase her talents"

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 23 March 2006 23:31 (twenty years ago)

I can't believe no one has said this, so: "stretch in me"

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 23 March 2006 23:33 (twenty years ago)

I just noticed the oddness of this quote: "Because most of the things that I've done so far are aimed at younger girls and are light-hearted."

While I doubt the people most excited by the prospect of Lohan in a Wonder Woman movie would be little girls I also can't think of many actors who think the antithesis of a "light-hearted" movie is a superhero vehicle.

Cunga (Cunga), Thursday, 23 March 2006 23:40 (twenty years ago)

superhero movies have pretty po-faced of late.

senseiDancer (sexyDancer), Thursday, 23 March 2006 23:44 (twenty years ago)

It should totally be Eliza Dushku.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 23 March 2006 23:46 (twenty years ago)

Two major problems with Eliza Dushku here: (1) questionable acting skills, (2) NO HIPS.

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 23 March 2006 23:50 (twenty years ago)

Rockist.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 23 March 2006 23:52 (twenty years ago)

Lohan is all wrong. Wonder Woman's more of a MILF than an ingenue.

Shakey Mo Collier (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 23 March 2006 23:55 (twenty years ago)

Exactly.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 23 March 2006 23:57 (twenty years ago)

Word to that.
I like Carla Gugino.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 24 March 2006 00:00 (twenty years ago)

I ONLY JUST REALIZED WHAT "MILF" ACTUALLY STANDS FOR

Allyzay Rofflesberger (allyzay), Friday, 24 March 2006 00:18 (twenty years ago)

You're kidding.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 24 March 2006 00:19 (twenty years ago)

No I actually am not. Swear on my grandfather's grave.

Allyzay Rofflesberger (allyzay), Friday, 24 March 2006 00:20 (twenty years ago)

Did you think it was just a nonsense word?

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 24 March 2006 00:20 (twenty years ago)

No, but I couldn't really figure out what the acronym stood for. I tried to come up with very seriousy terms for each of the letters, too!!! It only just occurred to me to google it.

Allyzay Rofflesberger (allyzay), Friday, 24 March 2006 00:23 (twenty years ago)

You've never seen American Pie?

Zwan (miccio), Friday, 24 March 2006 00:28 (twenty years ago)

not really

Allyzay Rofflesberger (allyzay), Friday, 24 March 2006 00:28 (twenty years ago)

It was on, once, but I mostly ignored it.

Allyzay Rofflesberger (allyzay), Friday, 24 March 2006 00:28 (twenty years ago)

I want to hear what your other possibles were!

phil d. (Phil D.), Friday, 24 March 2006 00:31 (twenty years ago)

they mostly started with some variation on "mature" or "middle" and then tried to come up with things from there. It was pretty vexing actually.

Allyzay Rofflesberger (allyzay), Friday, 24 March 2006 00:32 (twenty years ago)

god let this be salma hayek

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 24 March 2006 00:35 (twenty years ago)

yeah I vote for Salma too.

Shakey Mo Collier (Shakey Mo Collier), Friday, 24 March 2006 00:38 (twenty years ago)

or Catherine Zeta-Jones

Shakey Mo Collier (Shakey Mo Collier), Friday, 24 March 2006 00:39 (twenty years ago)

I had heard Kate Beckinsale floated around. Please god no.

phil d. (Phil D.), Friday, 24 March 2006 00:46 (twenty years ago)

Evangeline Lilly

super yooper (waah christ dere eh pard?) (OutDatWay), Friday, 24 March 2006 00:47 (twenty years ago)

in addition to her lack of hips (which I'm so happy someone else has noticed!) Eliza Dushku has been looking like her face melted off lately. I think she had some ill-advised plastic surgery.

Charisma Carpenter totally has the MILF thing. Salma Hayek is short, but I guess they could have her stand on stuff to look taller.

horsehoe (horseshoe), Friday, 24 March 2006 01:16 (twenty years ago)

Evangeline Lilly is too skinny. Catherine Zeta-Jones would be awesome. You guys just want Salma Hayek because her boobs would be treading dangerous pop-out territory in that outfit (not that I blame you)...

Jessie the Monster (scarymonsterrr), Friday, 24 March 2006 01:39 (twenty years ago)

You gotta remember--WW is an Amazon.

When I interviewed him, all he would say was that it wouldn't be a grandmother.

Grey, Ian (IanBrooklyn), Friday, 24 March 2006 02:48 (twenty years ago)

Lohan is all wrong. Wonder Woman's more of a MILF than an ingenue.

So where's her Wonderkid? Seriously, of course it should be Lohan: all those 14 to 18 year olds don't really care all that much for Dushku. I mean, sure, she was supergreat as that evilesque sidekick in Buffy but come on she won't draw that many people to the cinema as Lohan does. I think it's actually a great idea to have Lohan as Wonderwoman. Not only for commercial reasons, but she also looks the part.

I had heard Kate Beckinsale floated around. Please god no.

She grew wings or is on drugs? Either way, I agree, GOD NO.

Nathalie (stevie nixed), Friday, 24 March 2006 03:00 (twenty years ago)

Monica Belluci (plus, she speaks French)

Joe (Joe), Friday, 24 March 2006 03:22 (twenty years ago)

i will go see this movie without an ounce of irony.

Special Agent Gene Krupa (orion), Friday, 24 March 2006 03:28 (twenty years ago)

(with or without lohan.)

Special Agent Gene Krupa (orion), Friday, 24 March 2006 03:29 (twenty years ago)

Jennifer Garner people.

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Friday, 24 March 2006 04:03 (twenty years ago)

Urgh, please no.

Uma Thurman + black wig?

pixel farmer (Rock Hardy), Friday, 24 March 2006 04:09 (twenty years ago)

About this MILF ignorance.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 24 March 2006 04:36 (twenty years ago)

Lohan as WonderWoman would be awesome, because might actually have to beef up a little bit.

Erick Dampier is better than Shaq (miloaukerman), Friday, 24 March 2006 04:37 (twenty years ago)

Jennifer Garner gave up all superhero rights by doing Elektra.

The true WW would be Gina Torres.

Grey, Ian (IanBrooklyn), Friday, 24 March 2006 04:47 (twenty years ago)

About this MILF ignorance.

yeah, back it up. are you cryogenic?

gbx (skowly), Friday, 24 March 2006 04:48 (twenty years ago)

Nobody mentioned Rachel Bilson yet?

I love the way they've cropped out half of her head so you get the best possible view of her boobage.

Mädchen (Madchen), Friday, 24 March 2006 11:19 (twenty years ago)

Gina Davis would have been perfect for it.

Stone Monkey (Stone Monkey), Friday, 24 March 2006 11:24 (twenty years ago)

Neko Case.

Mike W (caek), Friday, 24 March 2006 11:39 (twenty years ago)

Isn't Rachel Bilson a bit short to play an amazon? I mean she looks cute in the outfit and all...

Greig (treefell), Friday, 24 March 2006 11:48 (twenty years ago)

The same goes for pretty much everyone else suggested, too...Much as I'd love to salivate over see Salma Hayek in a Wonder Woman outfit, she's only 5'2" or so and is thus way to short for the part.

Stone Monkey (Stone Monkey), Friday, 24 March 2006 12:10 (twenty years ago)

DOn't forget about Filfs

Mr Jones (Mr Jones), Friday, 24 March 2006 12:26 (twenty years ago)

Dan (Awesome) Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 24 March 2006 14:13 (twenty years ago)

Or Lucy Lawless in her Xena: Warrior Princess days

Stone Monkey (Stone Monkey), Friday, 24 March 2006 14:17 (twenty years ago)

Hey, I just thought of Lawless too!

Mädchen (Madchen), Friday, 24 March 2006 14:44 (twenty years ago)

The thing about WW is that any actress playing her has to be *ahem* statuesque. Something Lohan - despite her other, doubtless sterling, qualities - is not.

Possibly Whedon's casting document should include the words "hefty lass" somewhere on it.

Stone Monkey (Stone Monkey), Friday, 24 March 2006 15:14 (twenty years ago)

Ooh! Whedon + heft ass, possibly = http://bestof.provocateuse.com/images/photos/gina_torres_99.jpg

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 24 March 2006 15:17 (twenty years ago)

er, lass

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 24 March 2006 15:17 (twenty years ago)

heh

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 24 March 2006 15:17 (twenty years ago)

Her bottle-banging role on a recent episode of The Shield can't hurt any, either!

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 24 March 2006 15:19 (twenty years ago)

It's a shame Hollywood is so ageist... Lynda Carter still looks really good.

Famke Janssen is 5'11", how 'bout her?

Jessie the Monster (scarymonsterrr), Friday, 24 March 2006 19:56 (twenty years ago)

She's an X-Woman

Werner Herzog Books On Tape (sexyDancer), Friday, 24 March 2006 20:11 (twenty years ago)

She seems a bit slender, but I guess no more slender than my idea (uma). The problem is that the physical type has to be absolutely dead-on for casting a character who fights crime in a one-piece swimsuit.

Lilly is in this month's Esquire talking shit about how she wants to do it. They have a history. They can stuff her bra. She's cute and ready for a major role. I think she'd be fine.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Saturday, 25 March 2006 04:22 (twenty years ago)

I think Lilly could work.

Grey, Ian (IanBrooklyn), Saturday, 25 March 2006 05:12 (twenty years ago)

peoples peoples, the only ones that come into my head is 1: the beautiful milf detective from CSI: Miami, and the beautiful latina goddess whom Charlie Epps admires from Numbers.

Mark Cruz, Friday, 7 April 2006 07:56 (twenty years ago)

The Milf from CSI: Miami by the way is Sofia Milos, she was born in Zurich, Switzerland and is fluent in Italian, French, German, English, Greek & Spanish. The girl from Numbers is Navi Rawat and she is actually half Indian half German and was born on May 2 1981 and she also appeared on 11 episode of The O.C. I'm not really sure about these two but Joss Whedon or rather the producers made it clear they wanted a woman who hasnt been in nude or half nude photo shoots before.
