Yeah, the layout / context is nice to see on external pages...and why should Ned do the ol' copy n paste (n possibly format)?

I support the movement for copying and pasting the text from articles.
Two reasons:
a) Some sites are blocked on work computers (and yeh, you shouldn't be clicking on threads with the word 'porn' in them at work but...)

b) Soon enough that link will become dead and this thread will be useless. If the text is here then the life of the thread will last longer.

ctr-a > ctrl-c > ctrl-v should definitely be used on all sites that need a log-in too. It's annoying having to go to bugmenot.com (and yeh, it's only 4 clicks or whatnot but why have 4 when you can have zero?).
